In ten years 1/2 of the U.S. workforce will be eligible for retirement.
What does that mean for the people of the U.S.? Getting a job easier? Maintaining a job with more options? Or does it mean that our economy could suffer because of the rising costs of retirement benefits on the new workers to support all those baby boomers retirements?
Just curious what you guys thought. There are a lot of young folks who come here. Do you guys think about your future? Or do you just expect someone to take care of you? I know a lot of the youth these days have a very strong sense of entitlement. Those are going to be some sad workers is all I can say.

I hope some day we can all put aside our racisms and prejudices and just laugh at people
Social Security and Medicare are screwed up. We're all going to suffer unless someone figures out a fix. When my generation (25-35) comes to true political and economic primacy in this nation, we'll make a decision. When that time comes I can't honestly say what we'll do, but the pessimist in me says that we'll slash benefits for the elderly out of a grudge that that generation never did anything to fix the situation. And I don't know how I feel about that, but a wicked part of me thinks it's a good idea.
One way or another, this is trouble. Big trouble.
