OSI servers: how good are they?

IrrilIrril Member Posts: 8
I use to play UO way way back in the day, then i stopped playing, a bit before they announced SE. How are the OSI servers now? Is it still hard as heck to get a house?

It really depends on the server, but in general, nope.

I play on Atlantic and it wasn't hard at all to find a house, if I'm not mistaken I managed to place a 13x12 near minoc on my 9th or 10th day. Some servers are still somewhat crowed, which is pretty good, and the economy was pretty crappy some months ago but it's starting to get good again. The pvp didn't change much from SE, so if you didn't mind all the sam archers and ninja dexxors then you won't have problems at all.

Well the pvp kinda changed since AoS. We have 3 new skills now: bushido ninjitsu and spellweaving. For a while a lot of people used Bushido to pvp because it was really overpowered, then it's main spells got nerfed. Ninjitsu is still very used nowadays on pvp, and it has some really annoying and kinda overpowered spells like deathstrike for example (it's mainly used by dexxors - melees and archers). Spellweaving didn't really do a HUGE difference to pvp but it has it's own importance because of it's unique features and spell effects (it's somewhat like magery). Anyway, the pvp is still hugely item-based, but even so I'd recommend you to give it a try, if you enjoyed the pos-AoS pre-SE period.

    i see.

Thing im worried about is buying the game, starting up an account, then getting bored of grinding my guy back up to GM then finding out its crap.

Is the skill grinding any better? worse?

Whats to worry,  if you can remember your account name and password,  your characters are still there.  If you had a house, its gone but everything in your banks should be there.

Now if you just want to make an entire new account, its easy now to grind a new character,  I just started a new dex monkey on a different shard just to try the new quest they put in.  Over 3 days (about 8 hours) of game play,  I have 2 skills out of 7 gm'd and the other 5 are all in the low 80s.

I have been having fun working up this new character,  except for stats thats still limited to 10 gains per day,  although EAMythic is getting ready to change that.  To no limit on stat gains.
