    You cannot minimize FFXI.  There is a program out there that allows you to but it is "illegal" by SE's terms.

    I think they did this in an attempt to prevent the use of third party programs. The quickest way to minimize out without having to re-login and everything is to temp log to playonline and minimize that.

    that's completely lame. what if you conduct business on your comp. ie Ebay'ing play money :P

    My friend is actually working on a program right now so he can alt+tab in and out of it... find a friend that knows some programming and have em make one for you.

    Aye, I agree.  It's totally lame.  To me the logic behind their decision to not allow minimization is skewed because my best friend was able to run a macro inside FFXI easily and it ran without error for 15 minutes before he shut it down.
