Just a few questions about the quests....
The epic 'single quest' that takes you to 20 (I believe), what happens after that? Are there more quests or is it just exploring after that?
Also, the comment about meaningful quests 'you won't be killing the local rat population'. What kind of quests do you think they'll be?

* The first 20 levels aren't a single quest, but rather a storyline quest series that is different depending on your chosen archetype.
* There are quests afterwards, plenty of them.
* One of the specific quest examples mentioned involved avenging the honor of a particular Cimmerian warrior who's family was captured into slavery. The most direct solution would of course be to use force or guile to eliminate opposition in the slaver camp. However, the culture of the Cimmerians is such that there is another, potentially easier solution, an arrow from a distance through the heart of the fallen warrior's kin, since such a death is much preferable than slavery to them. Quests also range from investigative/mystery types, to dealing with certain aspects of a pict invasion.

is it anything like (elder Scrolls) Oblivion, were there are quests you would never would have guessed exsisted?
obviously im expecting a darker theme to the quests. im just hoping it not endless fetch errends, and that there will be a large number of quests that defiy the conventional MMO quests (find X things to kill, gather Y things from them).
also will there be boss battles at the end of big, long, difficult dungeon's (possably with some dark puzzles through-out )?

The above post pretty much exhausted my knowledge of the topic, I'm sorry I don't have any more juicy details for you. The only thing further I'd like to add is that Gaute Godager has expressed an extreme personal dislike of the above mentioned standard quest stock, and mentioned that AoC will have as little of that "as possible".
However, conversation with NPCs is supposed to be a bit like Oblivion and KOTOR, with voiceover communication and multiple dialogue options, and consequenses based on said dialogue options. (although I somehow doubt you will be getting 'darkside points' for saying something nasty) This does leave the barn door wide open for some of the more... interesting quest varieties.
