What the MMO world needs!

kosdethkosdeth Member UncommonPosts: 36

First off i want to say that there needs to be more PvP focused MMO's out there, good ones at least.

I need a PvP game that gives you a world that feels realistic in the sense that anything goes. I want to be able to go out adventuring, solo or with friends, and be fully aware that there can be the danger of another player waiting to stall my adventure to either rob me of my loot or to eliminate myself as competition for a common goal or to just straight up jack me for the thrill of a kill.

I want to have to form player relationships in order to survive and to do well in a world of hostility. I want rewards for my kills, loot or status just something

I also want a world where you can own things, property boats mounts etc. aswell

Throw in quests and objectives that get you out in the world so that you can stumble across a potential victim and vice versa.

I think what i really am wanting is a combiantion of games like EQ for its character creation and vast adventure. A game like Vanguard for its ability to create and own things. Shadowbane for its Unforgivable kill or be killed and give me your loot competition. Finished of with the polish WoW has and for its Simple play style.

When this game i describe is created, and it will be, we will have the Game of all games and i will finally be fully satisfied with a MMO.

I agree, this game is like Face of Mankind.  An MMOFPS that is still popular, and fun.  Lots of drama in the game because its ALL player controlled, economy, military, goverment, you name it.  And you can die ANYWHERE, well that is execpt your homebase, you can still die from your own faction members though.

There IS a game like that... it was the first MMORPG to ever exist, and it still has the rules if you play on UOgamers playerrun Free shard. The game is Ultima Online. It has EVERYTHING you just described, other than quests. Quests never really caught on Ultima, although they did TRY it at one point, but it never really worked out.. But everything else is what that game has, atleast on the player-run shards. That's what I play, and it really is one of the best MMO's around to this date.

There are already like 1000 exactly the same MMORPGS.

100s of RTS, like 30 released in the past 24 months(too many damn RTSs in so little time)

There are also 100s of FPSs, if you want to just go online and shoot people with guns, there are countless options available.

But if you want something like a FPS that persistent characters in an RPG setting(magic, swords, etc) there are maybe 10 games with that stuff.

So props for Auran to help fill that gap in the market

Lets hope other companies also pick up this trend and make some more of these competitive hack and slash and cast games :)
