Fun Anime-Style MMORPG

I'm looking for a good Anime-Style (dosn't have to be based on an anime or any thing, just want its visual presentation to be Anime-esque) MMORPG. If its free, thats a hudge plus. Please, if you know of ANY, please post! Also note that I've played Priston Tale and I have to say...it sucks! Maybe some thing along the lines of Ragnarok:Online (would play it, to expensive) would be nice.

    two anime mmorpg I can think of that's anime style is:

    FFXI and Lineage ][

    FFXI:  You'll either love it or hate it.  I thought it was ok. I'd give it 7 outta 10...well...maybe 6.5 lol

    Lineage ][:  Stay away from that one if you value your sanity lol.  Game is plagued with hacks, exploits, bots, paid chinese adena (gold) sweatshops, etc.  Plus everyone looks the same.

    Those are the two anime I had played....there nothing special.  Unfortunately, many Asian based mmorpgs have very little content other than lvl grinding. 

    I hope someone else can give you valuable information

    unfortunetly nearly every mmorpg has very little content except level grinding. You might wanna try Conquer online. There was this other one where you had a pet but I forget which one that was. Both these games are free.

    Some people say Ragnorak is very anime-like, but I haven't played it and heard from some people that it is very bad. However I did play FFXI and Lineage II. Like most people say: stay away from Lineage II! FFXI on the other hand, I liked. Although it is not for everyone.

    "Ragnarök Online", "Monsters & Me" and "fairy Lands" are some anime-cute mmoRPGs
    if you wanna play Ragnarök for free there's loads of "free"(private) servers.
    as for Monsters & Me i think thy have a 20 day free trail or something..
    Fairy Lands.. what to say about that game.. cool FF based fighting system.. ALOT like the one FF use, this game also has a very wide skill system and lots of "sub-jobs" it's over all a fun game.

    and if you like anime you can always play Knights of Xentar ;) thas a "cool" RPG ::::28::

    Why are you playing MMORPG's to begin with? Get a console and some games like Disgea or some of the other anime rpg titles. It's cheaper in the long run and a lot less annoying than FFXI and LII. To me:

    SD Gundam Wars > All Of the MMorpgs in the world combined.

    Hey this is just me, but mmorpgs have been annoying me lately and seems to cater to the delusional people who wish to accomplish their frustrated dreams of glory through a visual medium; but hey, I'm not here to judge. I'm here to provide positive criticism and play tetris. iRO is okay, but they need to stream line their network code.

    Hmm, well, Fairy Lands and Monster and Me I heard were quite good, try them out. See where they are on the game lists.

    if  .hack's "The World" becomes a reality it would be one of the most kick ass games ever. And if it does theres a gigantic chance that it might take out EQ2. Just think about the two games witch one has better graphics and gameplay? It is clear that the .Hack games is more funner and has extreamly better graphics then EverQuest 2. And its only a PS2 game and just imagine if its take on the computer world.

    Oh and if any of you are looking for any mmorpgs thats really anime. check out www.pristontale.com (FF online is'nt really anime... take it from a anime fan. Its more japanese like then anime...)

    Not holding my breath, and i sure am not playing it no more. But i still occasionally check the Lineage 2 boards just to see if they start tweaking that game,... It really could be one of the best games ever if they fix some of the bigger issues. Trouble is with the CS team they have, i just unfortunatly dont see it happening.

    yo why you dislike it so much? Its definatly better then EverQuest ever was. Even thought it gots a crapy warpgate. Actually now looking at the graphics again after beating all 4 games. To me ff online is the only game that looks as good as it.

    What crack are you smoking?  Those graphics don't touch eq2 and as far as a ps2 game overtaking eq2 with as big a fan base as it has?  That's just crazy.  While I value everyone's opinion this is just pure talking out ones a$$.     i mean if YOU feel that this games graphics are far superior than EQ2 then have fun playing it.   Those graphics are so ps2 it's scary.

    70 million people own a playstation 2, compared to the online gaming community which barely touches 26 million. This includes all multiplayer games world wide. From what I know 70 > 26.

    Of that 70 million what percentage plays online?  Granted Sony wins both ways but as I said before there is no way in heaven or hell that a playstation title will steal the majority of online players from eq2.

    EQ and EQ2 have no anime inspired influence so it seems like the wrong place for this argument.

    As for anime style mmorpgs I would agree the two mainstream ones currently out would be Lineage 2 and Final Fantasy XI. 

    Lineage 2's graphics are the more serious gritty anime style while FFXI are more the cute style anime (both for players and monsters).  Unfortunately I wouldnt recommend either of them on gameplay.  Both have some good and some bad points so its going to come back to a personal taste thing.

    There are quite a few of the RO type anime mmorpgs out there, dozens actually, but I havent played many of them to give any impressions.

    I think the best anime type of game i've played would be redmoon, i just loved that game it was really fun to play good characters an ok story line smooth game play with a nice leveling system doesn't require hours of level grinding to get anywhere. Some may find it a little repetative but it gets good. I would also like to see .hack world that would be interesting, and i really enjoyed all the games fun fun fun, make sure u play em in order tho otherwise you won't have a clue whats happening.

    no matter whats anybody say .Hack's "The World" well always be better then EQ2. Hey how is FF online, anime? the only characters thats would be anime is da tarutaru race. The rest are too realistic and some weird races like the galka and the gay elvaans. Yo if you ask me the game is wack.(same with EverQuest)

    And how are you guys not metioning PristonTale?  PristonTale is a true anime mmorpg but it sucks that it doesn't have graphics as good as the .Hack games. image  I really really really want to play "The World"!!! I really do image come on I can't be the only fan that want it that badly?

    umm the only thing nice that i saw from you .hack SSs, much better use of a color palette then any mmorpg ive seen
