Questions about SotNW

I'll admit I've played my fair share of MMOs, and this one does look good, but a few things are holding me back. In the past I've found that American MMOs tend to center around story and adventure (mixed in with your help this random guy quests). Korean and Japanese MMOs in the past have focused on the "Grind" or gathering of gold or adena (you name it lol) as well as a very long xp grind, with massive loss if you die. With that said I have a few concerns/questions about SotNW:

-Anyone that has played this game... would you considered it very similar to Lineage 2 in how long it takes to level up and how hard it is to gather wealth?

-Would SotNW be considered a Solo game (with plenty of solo content) or a group/community based game? I ask this because in the past games like Lineage have proven that the Korean commuinty likes "Community vs. individual" and being from America I'll admit (as most of you know) we tend to focus on the "me" not the "us" lol and like in games like WoW and EQ2, I want a "me" experiance

FAQ questions (The FAQ on the offical page is very... spartan so if anyone has answers to these questions I'd be most grateful).

-Player Housing: Is it somthing we may see or no? I noticed mention of quarters, but the discription was more about a place where your unused characters stay.

-WSDA and PAC (Point and Click): I've noticed mention of this topic, but a more refined question is, we know its PAC but when/if they add in WSDA will the pathfinding be good enough to make it feel like an actual feature rather than just a quick patched addin?

I guess thats about it, the game looks good, and it'll be interesting to see if Gods and Heroes beats it (due to the fact that they both have "squad" based combat). I'm a bit iffy when comparing the two games, I do love Anime style artwork and the Korean game community puts out some great artwork, I just wish that in the past that games had been as good as art work.

1: No, more along the lines of WoW. The cap level is level 100, and you will probably reach level 12 ~ 20 on your first sitting. it takes about a month of reasonable playing (few hours a day) to level your characters to level 100.

2: You can solo all the way to level 100 easily, there are very few quests that require a group

3: No, there is no player house and there probably isn't going to be any

4: K2 network is making changes to the game, so I don't know if this version will have WASD movement. However In the other Granado Espada versions, there is no WASD movement (Mainly because your WASD keys are used for a different purpose, the skills of your characters). However the game is build with Point & click in mind. It plays sort of like an RTS

This game looks nice on the screenshots but with the high standards on the nowadays mmorpgs I still have a few questions about the game:

Is there some character customization in appearance? (except from gear)

Can characters move freely? like wasd movement and jumping etc.

Whenever I spot Asian mmorpg's I'm always afraid to end up in a mmorpg with clones (all classes look the same) and all characters in the world are glued to the ground somehow. I really hope SotnW is different because it sure does look nice.

edit: hmm sorry for asking about the wasd movement, I see its already explained above

There is very limited character customization, even in regards to equipment.  In GE, your first major armor upgrade is at level 12, and it won't change in appearance again until level 30, if I remember correctly.  I'm told SotNW has more customization from the beginning.

There's absolutely no jumping or WASD movement.  Usually, that'd be a huge turnoff for me too, but after playing Lineage II and Archlord, I'm actually glad this game doesn't have it.  Even if I wanted it, though, it couldn't be done since those keys are very important.  Have you ever played an RTS like Command & Conquer or Starcraft? Well, the keys on the left side of your keyboard call up the various skills for each of your characters; the first row, QWERT, controls the first character, ASDFG the second, and ZXCVB the third.

If you don't like Asian MMOs, this game offers little to change your mind, but you should definitely at least try GE since it's in open beta right now and you can see if you like it.

Alittle off topic, but after reading this thread. I think im definately going to skip the Beta offer for SotNW on www.fileplanet.com. Point 'n' Click movement is no fun.

After playing the beta here are somethings I noticed.

It IS PnC.  As much as I hate that, it is rather intuitive and in the end... I don't think WASD 'could' work.  I saw the way WASD was done in NWN2 and it sucked... this game is a lot like NWN2 in concept.  I think SotNW's controls are better.

There are about 10-20 costumes to choose from during character creation, you cannot change hair, body, face or any of that.  But K2 has had on their website that only Class/Gender/Costume would be changable... :shrugs:

Thanks for answering Winterfresh and Boommer99 :) it might be a fun game, but now I know it won't be fun for me.
