Ok guys. This is crazy. This game is HORRIBLE. It is one of the best reviewed games, yet I could not find anything justifying the purchase. It has no monthly fee for a reason. Because the game is nothing more than a glorified chat room. Nobody takes it seriously, the screen names tell you that. No one wants to group. Everybody just stands around in the outposts trying to shirk new players out of items they don't want to work for. I looked for a group for a solid week and never found anyone. The point is that not charging a monthly fee means that the player base does not really care about playing the game or doing anything constructive because they are not paying to do so. SWG and EQ2 are WAY better than this. I'll take the NGE over this pile of crap anyday.

We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.
Don't be sorry. The game's just not for you. Gamers have tastes, and GW doesn't suit yours. You're more of the SWG and EQ2 type.
Just curious, how far along the game have you gone? Because while I almost always team up with henchies in quests, I never have problems grouping in missions in this so-called pile of crap. Heck, even max-level farmers and Samaritans are available at times to assist you. Just last night at the Gates of Kryta, I had 3 Lv20s help me out, including the bonus.
I have had a ball... always had people willing to help out. And when I got to level 20, I was always helping lower level players with quests.
I find majority of the players taking it pretty seriously, especially in guilds... unfortunately they took it a little too serious, but I knew the benchmark... I had exams and then went away for a couple months so I was dropped T_T
But still, fantastic game... maybe just not for you

If you read anyone's comments, even we who are fans say constantly that the community is horrible. No monthly fee has nothing to do with it, hell I've tried a few of the Korean grindfest free games that have better in-game communities than GW. Yes, most names are just stupid, but guess what? Go play some subscription MMORPGs and you'll find the same type of players with the same stupid-ass names, even on so-called "RP" servers. Even SWG and EQ has them. Welcome to the internet...
Coming to GW with preconcieved expectations from other MMORPGs is ignorance. With so many MMOs out there now, and so many forum sites, do some research and get an idea for the gameplay mechanics to see if it's for you before buying. Trials are great, of course, but only a handful of MMOs offer them. Sorry you didn't like GW (it sounds more like you expected something GW is not + stupid community) but use it as a lesson and do some homework before buying your next MMO (or anything for that matter).
QFT.
Trolling situation if I ever saw one. 1 post only and doesn't reply to comments. Anyone who does not have the ability to find another person to do a quest or mission with in GW (when there are even Party Searches in town), would not have the ability to sign up on mmorpg.com and make an account, as they both require about the same ammount of effort.

This games ok for a 10 min pick up and play or somthing like that, if you play this game though expecting a good mmo you will probably be disappointed its more like a single player game with a decent online componant. Im not really sure why its on this site, i think they list them as mmos if they have a lobby type of system.
Guild wars 2 might be more for those looking for a competive pvp mmo, got to wait awhile though lol
Another 1-post troll reported, moving on...
join a good guild, turn off local chat, job done and good night
They should just bite the bullet and put in raiding since their PVP has always been boring / elitist.
And the PvE? Boring? yeah, ok, granted, it does get bloody repetitive, but if you finished all the content from all three chapters, then you either rushed the game, or like myself and Akaraxle, your an old vet... Either way, maybe you should try it with other people, because as with everything in life, its not what your doing, but who your doing it with that counts
ok dude i mean come on. it's a good game. a gloriffied chat room? obviously you haven't played the game. groups are fun thats why everybody wants one, and Most people are in guilds so that they'll get more help. i've been playing for 2 days which is longer then my EQ2 account so GW can't be that bad. and another thing you're going to get ppl looking for groups alot in any MMO if you don't like that then dont play.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
The biggest problem with people coming to this game from other MMOs is that they come with a built-in set of expectations about what it should or shouldn't be, based on what they played before (I know that's how I first came to it).
I don't blame people for hating it when they first play it. As I've written many times, that's how I felt about it when I first got here. But the key is to keep playing it and see how you feel about it after a couple of days or weeks. After all, once you've bought it, you've already incurred the only expense you're going to get. It won't cost you another penny to play, and you might learn to appreciate it, given time and an open mind.
hell, give me a shout in game and i'll get you on my vent server and get a group of guildies together and see if you don't enjoy it then
I''m somewhat amazed. You couldn't find a group for a WEEK? While I do admit grouping has decreased since the addition of heroes, (Proph had all kinds of Groups when i played it...) But mainly nowadays, it has alot to do with your ability to make friends... Grouping isn't as random, ime, as it was in Proph. But even my desolate non-social ass can find a group when i want to lol... smh
Altho... if you were obviously noob, some groups don't have patience for that. But back during proph i used to go to Ascalon with monk or ele and help ppl through missions or give them stuff or even go to Thirsty River and help peeps through that mission free... And you will find alot of people with that same mentality if you give the community a chance. I've had NF about a week and so far it seems like a more solo exp, but I don't mind it so much. I'm starting to meet people, just not quite as quickly as in Proph.
You need a littttllle patience to play this, to get used to it, and to get to know the community and market. You can't just understand everything right away. But you play MMO's right? surely they've instilled some patience in you. No?

Here's a tip: leave Pre-Searing.
Seriously though, you might want to be a tad more specific. Where were you what were you trying to do, what profession did you choose, what time were you on (and what is your timezone)...
IMO you suffer from "I thought it was WoW without fee" issues.
