I hate instances!
I started out wishing there would be instances in games. I used to get so frustrated when people would compete with me to camp the Mt. Lethe loot. Or farm Crystal Shards at the bottom of Nexus. I wished to have my own spot for me and my friends, where I could just do my thing and get a larger portion of the loot whilst being undisturbed. Then came WoW, the answer to all of my prayers. Or so I thought. I quickly hated the idea of the instances. I think an truly open world (It doesn't even have to be pvp, but that helps) adds so much to the dynamic of a game. Line jumping campers aren't the nicest thing to deal with - but I think it adds a certain aspect to the game. Not only are you fighting monsters on a pve server, but you end up fighting lineups! Swearing at people who break the "code" of standard lines. Or you could just go and kill the player camping your favorite loot drop spot if it were Darktide.
Meh. I am realizing the only way I'll ever get these things back is to go back to AC. but I hate macros. and XP chains. RAWR.

XP chains are dead. Turbine changed how passup works.
I agree, I hate instances. Give me people camping and line jumping anyday. It's nice to be a more realistic world. There are actually a few instances in AC1... kind of.
The Colosseum is the newest, which is limited to one fellowship at a time. There are only few Colosseum's, not infinite like other games where instances are created on the fly. Luckily few people ever goto it and getting in is never a problem.
Mage armor is also kind of a instance as I recall. There is a small set of identical mage armor dungeons that people spawn in randomly. I believe the quest is supposed to be a single person encounter. However, it's possbile for someone to get put in the same dungeon randomly, but not likely.
