So it seems like LOTRO has some staying power, at least on this site. What are your thoughts since release? Will it continue? For how long? I think it opened at 8.5 and only went down .1, I noticed some of the other games go up by .1. Definately saw an increase in less mature people, I don't want to repeat some of the OOC conversations I've seen. The dungeons are nothing new, but some of the boss fights are pretty fun. Still having a good time.
What big name MMO is not number 1 when it first comes out? Seriously GW was, COH was, EQ2 was, WOW was, etc.....
As far as my thoughts go I think that as soon as the next big name MMO comes out, LOTR will go the way of Auto Assault, Planetside, EQ2, DnD, etc. The reason why I say this is due to the fact that I beta tested this game and tried to like it but it just wasn't entertaining...at all.
------------------------------ You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
It was an alright game but it felt a little too much like a WoW clone in my opinion, and frankly I found the rate at which I leveled to be far too fast, and the lack of variation in armor was also quite well blah. Anyhow the story instances were very cool.
Fun Factor is what makes or breaks a game, if its not fun just play something else.
My thoughts haven't changed since beta 1. LOTRO is World of Warcraft set in the Lord of the Rings Universe with sucky gameplay and better graphics. Except for the non-dwarf models. Those look horrible.
IF this guy is serious, he is a idiot. If he's joking, hes not funny.
I'm no fanboy but this game will be around a long time and it will be popular for a long time.
And i'd really really really like to say for the war/aoc fans to shut up about them. Not because i'm not excited about them(i'm really optimistic on war, and aoc looks like a blast as well) But isn't it about time people like you guys stfu and realize to wait for a mmorpg before saying "this'll bide your time till "better" games come out" rather they should say "Get this game, it's fun, decent, and well made" Hasn't it been proven that you can't judge ANY mmorpg by any reason anymore?
