Greetings LOTRO players.
I've been getting second thoughs about the game.
I bought the game couple days ago, leveled to 22 lore-master, I find it hard to level. Im currently questing at lone-lands, and the quests that I have at the moment are too tough. I loved the game at first, but I just dont know what happened, the excitement stopped instantly at these 20+ levels. Did anyone else experience this? I've been trying alot mmorpgs lately and always got bored to them. The last time I really enjoyed a mmorpg was sadly, World of Warcraft. But I really dont need to go back to that crap again
So yeah, any thoughs, advice, or anything at all, tell me!
I heard of this another realm which has more roleplayers, and might be re-rolling there to seek more fun. I would like to know your thoughs about good soloing class, since all my mates play world of warcraft and dont really care about Lotro.
Sorry for my english, im Finnish so that might be the reason for typos.
Take care!

Same but ive experienced it much earlier than you two. Theres nothing diverse about LOTRO from any other MMO thus the excitement factor for me is none. I currently play eve-online and will be continueing to play that instead of LOTRO. Unfortnutally this game lacked diversity from all the others and it leaves me with little to desire..
Secondly, Loremasters are a tough class to solo. Take it from a level 34 Loremaster. If you don't care much for the lone-lands you can always try to quest in the North-Downs. You will need a couple levels, maybe 3, but it's a new area and, to me, is a lot more fun than the lone-lands.
If you want to reroll I would try a burglar maybe. I've heard a lot of good things about them. Also, there is a huge need all the time for Minstrels. They're about as hard to solo as Loremasters but you can get groups easier.
EVE - Sharvala
FFXI - Shazamalicious
Guild Wars - Xavier Lucifer & Charlize the Necro
"Ranged...stuck...tree...15 random words... suck... noob fanboy... I MAKE GUIDE!"
I've heard about guardsmen, are they good soloing?
I will try to level one burglar to ~10 level and see how its going to go.
How about professions? which professions would fit burglar well?
Go to North Downs if it's because you're out of quests. You'll get 22-25 out there real easy, and then you can go back to Lone Lands and finish up the quests around Ost Guruth and you'll be set to hit the Esteldin area and really take off in levels.
Although if you're an RP'er I would recommend Landroval. It's the unofficial RP server and supposedly a great deal of fun for those types.
ummm you say you 'got the game a couple days ago' and your lvl 22 already?? wow thats pretty good!
Wait.......now your saying its hard to lvl. hmmmm ......................... I dont get it.........................
The 20 levels in a couple of days and now... caught my cynical eye too.
However; many players in the 20's ping-pong back and forth between Lone Lands and North Downs. And it's really more fun if you join a good kinship. Because the xp you get from a quest depends on your level vs. the quest level and difficulty, you don't get xp penalties depending on your fellowship grouping.
The Evendim expansion is due out this month; in an interview, it was called the Summer Solstice expansion, which may be a strong hint as to when this month. IIRC, it will add quests from 30 up, with most soloable, which should be well timed for you.
Each class has a surprisingly individual "flavor". I happen to like hunter, but we can get knocked around by adds. Guardians are tough, especially dwarf guardians. etc. I've heard that LM's really come into their own at higher levels, but I've not played one.
I think complexity in a MMO is what keeps your interest long term. Unfortunatly, theres not alot of complexity or depth in LoTRo.
Most of the quests after lvl 20 require team work. Lotro is not designed for solo play.
There are no uber classes for solo play in lotro. I tried all of them in beta and none of them had something for solo play. Any kind of character that you will make will have the same "problems". So Don't quit your character.
BUT you can hybrid your character. A loremaster is a hit machine. So he lacks defense. Use traits and items to get defense and fast recovery of hits. Use Destiny points to gain temporary skills that boost xp or defense.
Making a hybrid character is good for solo play but not ideal for team work. Since you chose the hard way of soloing you must make changes to the stats of your character and not try making another class from start.
Change weapons in battle and buff yourself with food. Food is the best buff. You can't use it in battle but Before battle. Its effects will continue work even if you fight. This is the most crucial mistake people do. Food works in battle only if you have used it before.
Use Scholar scrolls to gain defense abilities. It's now time to play with a little strategy than just using that every level gives you.
Oh and ... Welcome to lotro.
