A whole list of them and the countries they were banned in here.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_computer_and_video_games Thanks for the list.

It's interesting that each country really bans things for their own reason and in all cases it seems only illegal to sell it; owning it or importing it is still legal.

I appreciate your humor, I dunno about the rest of these guys!

So it is legal to own banned games just not sell them? No problem, Funcom will just give the game away free in those countries and make the money back on the subscriptions!

With boobs, it will probably be banned in the U.S.A. Blood and gore won't matter here.

At the most some of the content may be moderated for the Australian market and the game will receive an MA15+ rating (ESRB 'M' equivalent). However, given the nature of some of the MA15+ games already available here in Australia, it's unlikely Age of Conan will be censored/moderated at all. To be honest, I don't see a game like Age of Conan being banned from sale in any country with a strong video game market.

Highly doubt that. The only thing the boobs will do is make a few good guys have their underwear become a little tighter.

One problem with your theory.  The US have only banned one game ever, and that was because it showed a 17-year old girl naked.  And that was "The Man Game" (or whatever that cheesy piece of crap was called).

They won't ban AoC, there isn't even the slightest chance.  Australia is faaaar more likely to ban this game than the US by a long shot.

Here you go, take a look at this:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banned_computer_and_video_gamesI do believe your right, and thanks for the info.. I really just want folks to remember that there is an organized effort against violent games in our country.  I am a firm believer that Americans can think for themselves.  Of course we have exceptions to the rule, but you get my drift.

hmmm i still dont think it will be banned to b honest.

all the games that have been banned are crap anyway   50 cent etc...

it jus goes to show we have banned a few games and americans havent. Jus shows why there is SO many school shootings/massacres.

    quite sad really.

It's not so much the laws which are outdated (some are actively working atm to increase censorship) but rather the fact that they are made by incompetent and polemic politicians. Apparently it's gotten better with the way we (Germany) evaluate games but after that Steinhaeusser massacre (school shooting)  a lot of the media and politicians were all too eager to blame the gaming industry because he was somewhat dressed up like a ninja, so clearly there was a connection to the CS' terrorist model. But it's really just platitudinal bs and an attempt to stray away from the real issues like social circumstances for instance or as in this case the flaws of the graduation system.

Anyway, I think the game you meant was "System Shock 2", blood was green in that. Usually though most of these 'corrections' could be remedied by a simple blood patch from the net. The real hassle I had to go through in the 90's was that some gory games weren't available on the shelves but literally sold under the counter. Since I live in a smaller town I had to drive all the way to the next bigger city and then of course pay extra for these imported UK/US versions. All in all some ~20€ each time, so quite a bit of money. But alas, even if some media idiots on national tv pride themselves in their crusades hassling the little bit of action oriented gaming industry we have, they can't really prevent digital downloads nor Americans and others producing more 'violent' games for us to buy and afaik the recent shooter in Virgina wasn't much of a gamer anyway so further steps in censorship won't prevent these massacres either. Pretty much like your UK terrorist laws which now prevent all of us from taking fluids like a bottle of coke aboard planes, as if that will protect us from another 9/11.

I find it dumb how in some countries you can join the army at 16 (and maybe end up going to war) and kill real people (then show it on TV after), but when they see that an 18 rated game shows pixels getting smacked around they go mental

Then we see the same people who support blowing up real people moaning about violent games.
