Graphics Wierdness?

in Fury
Just got into the alpha with the changed requirements (ati x850 cards now work) and wondering if it is because of the card that the graphics are so horrid.  Textures are on the level of EQ1 with no depth, lighting, shadows, or anything of the sort.





Basically nothing looks like that of the screenshots.  whats the deal?

    Same problem here. Running on a 7950gx2 with all the settings max'd out and it doesn't even look remotely close to what the screenshots and videos look like.

    I have the same question.



    My best guess is that since this is the Pre-Beta (AKA Alpha), the graphics are going to be completely updated.  The screenshots on their website look NOTHING like in-game does.

     Dreyzzyn, the x850 is an older card which uses Fury's low spec renderer.  The low spec renderer sacrifices visuals for performance.  If you want to see the game looking great (like the screenshots) you need a pixel shader 3 card.

    Hmm. Assuming it is alpha so graphics will change...new cards are so expensive though :(



    Fun game nonetheless.

    Not to reveal anything more specific due to the NDA all I can say is.. this game is still in the alpha stages (it's not even in a real beta stage).. they still need to fix a LOT of stuff... none the less the game is pretty functional and fun.

    Have to agree with liddo. Though the game is essentially in alpha, I've found it very fun so far. I would post some screenshots for clarifications of the OP, but I wont due to the NDA. I can say, though, that the game does look spectacular on SLI'd 8800GTXs -- so I would wager it is the low-spec mode as was indicated above. :)
