Money Magazines Best Places to Live.  My city I live in is on there.  Number 11.

I wonder how that happened?

Not a single one from Florida. I could have predicted that one.

Ah, a fellow Floridian. Are you enjoying our wonderful drought, lovebug infestation, and mega-brush fires?

....I hate my state...so very much.

    How bout 'dem Bush boys.

If you think you got it bad, come live in Texas.  We've got heat, 'publican's, drought, traffic, cows, and then it gets hotter.

They started this new thing here.  It's called toll roads.  They put those up all over the place.  And if that's not enough of an insult, they're not even owned by the state of Texas.  They're owned by other countries.  Like China!

  • I love it right now, anywhere I go I get lovebugs over my car, which you need to get rid of strait away before they damage the paint. However, under water restrictions, so I can only wash my car one day a week. I've been to alot of car washes.

I'm from Florida as well. That almost happened to me one day: I had noticed some ants crawling on me that morning only to return to my bedroom 2 hrs later and find my entire bed covered with ants. There were literally hundreds of them on my bed.... I was struck with awe and disbelief.

The huge ass cockroaches, annoying humidity, religious fundies and crappy scenery (the beaches are ok, but everything else is swamp..) have me really missing the west coast. I suppose that the only good thing I could ever say about this place is that it is quite unlikely to be the target of a terrorist attack, since it already looks like the victim of one.

This is a sequence of characters intended to produce some profound mental effect, but it has failed.

Ah yes, the cockroaches.. I remember, I fell asleep right on the carpet in my living room. Woke up because I felt something on my arm, I didn't have my contacts in so I lifted my arm (asleep on my back) and pulled it to my face to see. Whatever it was, it moved to my hand, so I put my palm to my face. This cockroach fell ONTO my lips man. I freaked out, started cussing up a storm. My dad came out of his room with a baseball bat..

    Edit; lol.

  • We don't have cockroaches in Florida, we have horses with six legs and antenna. You've never experienced an insect until you've met it in Florida, it's guaranteed to be five times as large and ten times more irritating. Also, the mosquitos carry off the children.

Yup, that is another thing I despise about it. Florida is everything I don't like basically.

Yea, I have basically been to all of the southern states that border Mexico, lived in Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, California and now Florida, and Oregon, and I would have to say California is by far the best state. Florida is nice, haha, if you wanna party your life away in Panama City. Besides that the water is always around 70 so I can go swimming in the ocean/bays and I enjoy having such loosely enforced laws. Also there is a good amount of rivers all over so you can basically go tubbing anywhere. However, I am moving again soon, but I am glad to be, even though there are plenty of things I like about the state living here would become hard. Especially after growing up in Cali. Haven't seen any "lovebugs" or crazy amounts of ants, but I do see damn turtles everywhere and when it rains here, it freakin rains and nearly floods everything. More of California should be on that list!

I probably riddled that paragraph with grammatical errors and sentence fragments, just woke up.

Most of the "best places to live" sites measure cities based upon economics, city services, climate, and crime control.

But never, have I seen one base a measure on freedom.  Living in an urban paradise doesn't mean much if you don't have full rights and freedoms (such as the Bill of Rights).

Im guessing the guys in florida live on ground level? I live in the fourth floor on an apartment that looks like a hotel on the inside but a gayclub on the outside ( both buildings are painted yellow, yellow for christ sakes! i hate that color ). Point is; i dont get ants or cockroaches.
