Everytime I wake up at 6 a.m. and put the radio on, and there is no Don Imus, I feel a little racist.

Apparaently there are some people that can't live with themselves and him at the same time.  Way to go!

My girls a very likable lady.  She's quite, respectfull, and a hard worker ( I would know, I was her boss once. )

So I get your girlfriend is white and that other person is black? If you think race is irrelevant then you are a fool, race issues is a big problem in america.

You can choose to live and see the truth or live in ignorance and face discrimination many more times.

Racists shouldn't be shown hatred and open war right away.

You want to remove the racism behavior as much as possible...getting in open war is putting oil on the fire.Think over it...it is...a simple word...that the other person wasn't even courageous enough to speak openly, in her face; have to wait for a back to be turned.  I don't claim to have the solution, but asking for firing this person, insulting back or been too rude isn't going to solve this situation.  You have a coward in front of you.  Determination, calmness and something else will solve the situation.

Now...into the feminine psychology, she wasn't even racist.  Yes, the comment reflect to her skin color...but it was done with a purpose, with a goal, with an objective...this is how women are at work and why peoples often prefer to work with less then subtle guys instead.

This look more like HARASSMENT technics then actual racism.  The "color" of the comments doesn't matter here, the intent, the psychic behind it...gah.

I am happy to not have such gals in my working area anymore!

You really should go back and reread some of the things I've written throughout the thread.

Specific race is irrelevent to me, because it doesn't matter what the race of the two people involved are, it's wrong.  Racism is racism regardless of the parties involved.

    Wish Darkfall would release.

Actually she started by making comments directly to her, and continued after she left.

Where I work has a very strict policy on harasment, and I agree with it 100%.

Step 1:  The the offender to stop.

Step 2:  If that doesn't work, go to your supervisor

Step 3:  If that doesn't work, Fire the bitch!!!!

It a little more in depth than that, but in a nut shell, thats about it.

    Cheers.

I agree with you 100%.  The only way to stop racism is through education and up bringing.  They should pass a law that states that racists and bigots should NOT be allowed to have children!

    Cheers.

The woman was asked to apologize.

My girl was on her way to the bathroom yesterday when the woman came out.  She stopped my girlfriend and told her she was told she had to apologize...

My girl asked if that was her apology and she said yeah.  My girl told her that's not an apology and I don't accept and the woman told her, "I don't give a shit."

One of the problems is.  My girl is in a positiion above this woman.  She's not just being a racist she's not respecting someone with authority over her.  My girl can't fire her personally, and when she has a problem with someone below her she is required to go to someone higher up.  This woman isn't just disrepecting her as a person based on her color, but also as someone in a position above her.

My girl told the person she's supposed to how she recieved the apology, and told them that she doesn't really want to press the issue.  Her boss effectively told her that he doesn't care.  She was supposed to apologize, she didn't, and she'll be dealt with.

It's like an F'd up soap opera.

As I mentioned earlier, ignorant people do not learn lessons from situations like these.  She will not change because this was how she was brought up and lived her life.  Very sad...

Well, your girl should be able to move on, hopefully this little soap opera will end and you can change the channel.

All this sounds like to me is a jealousy issue.

And in that case, your girlfriend shouldn't be upset but she should know how to "mess with her head" if you know what I mean.

And people do change.. just because someone is brought up a certain way does not mean they are meant to be that way, the only thing standing in the way of self improvement is the person themself.
