Who We Are
Avalorien is a role-play prefered, heavy PVP/PVE guild. We will be participating heavily in battlekeep roles, building cities, playing end game content as well as just being casual and social. We have been around since the early beta days of EQ2 and our EQ2 brothers and sisters still prosper there, however, many of us dissapointed in both EQ2 and Vanguard have come to Age of Conan to finally find a home.
Our Goals
Avalorien is a strong goal oriented guild with big aspirations for Age of Conan. We intend to fully utilize all in game features of PVE, PVP and include our own style of role-play. Our goal is to make our experiences in Age of Conan unique and exciting. We also strive to build a community of people who can share more than just games, but ideas, stories, talents and more.
We will most likely cap membership at 50 good solid players, but this is all circumstantial. We will not accept a large number of people to join as to keep things relatively friendly and easy to manage so there’s more time to play.
Miscellaneous
We have an IRC chat room located on the GameSurge.NET network. The location is irc.gamsurge.net on channel #avalorien. We suggest downloading Hydra IRC or BersIRC for chat communications on this channel. IRC will be pretty much dormant after release.
Ventrillo
We will secure a more permanent means of voice communication used for raids or PVP purposes only once the game is closer to launch.
Expectations:
Qualifications
We are an Aqulionian (Roman) themed, highly civilized and structured guild. We hold only allegiance to our own. We serve the people to protect them from harm. However, that being said, there are no restrictions on who may join Avalorien, other than, your character and story must align with the side of "good". We do not care about in game race, religion, class, time zone etc. We want anyone and everyone who can carry a sword, ride a horse, shoot a bow or cast a spell—and above all is loyal to the guilds vision.
Time Zone
Avalorien is a West Coast USA centered guild. (GMT -7) While we accept members from anywhere, we will be playing at times consisted with this time zone. Typical play hours are between 6PM-1AM MST.
Clans
Clans are a unique way to bring large groups of people who want to govern themselves under the Avalorien banner. Clans work such that you retain the name of your people but you serve under the Avalorien banner and hold true to Avalorien values and visions.
For example if you are the “Rus” clan but you want your clan under the protection or wish to be in the service of Avalorien, you can bring your clan in under the Avalorien banner, carry the Avalorien tag, but keep your clan heritage, leadership structure etc. It’s like having your own guild (clan) within Avalorien. Clans that join under the Avalorien banner will be held to the rules that govern Avalorien all listed below in this document.
Family First
We are a family first guild. We expect our members to take care of life outside the game first and foremost. That means we do not expect massive amounts of play time from you or expect you to be the most dedicated player on the server.
Maturity
We expect members of Avalorien to present themselves in a manner that is tactful, mature and do it with a sense of integrity. We aren’t going to toss you out for a few controversial words because your frustrated or perhaps because it drives your point home a little sweeter, but excessive and unnecessary language or topics of discussion such as sexually themed topics will not be tolerated.
Respect
We expect nothing more than respect for other members. This is a game in which many people from all walks of life and from all types of backgrounds will be playing as a team and it is important for members to use restraint even in heated moments. Disrespect of another member or other players will cause your alliance with this guild to be terminated. Treat others how you want to be treated.
Loyalty
We expect a certain level of loyalty with our members. We expect members to remain loyal to Avalorien and no other guild on the server. This is important and will be heavily enforced.
Representation
As a member, players represent the guild and its beliefs. We expect players to show the gaming world that we are mature, responsible, trustworthy people that other players can learn to rely on. When we slay a foe in battle, we respect the fallen, we do not spit on them or use any other manner of ill mannered representation to display our accomplishments, we salute the fallen.
Team Players
We expect members to work together, listen to their leaders and follow orders on the battlefield. Avalorien has a strong military hierarchy that includes battle formations and strategies and requires all members to know, understand and be proficient in following these standards.
Participation
We expect a certain level of participation from our members. If people simply join and do not participate with other members, activities etc, they will not advance through the guild which will hinder their access to certain guild benefits. If you have no plans to fully participate with this guild, please do not apply.
Name Policy
We expect members of Avalorien to create and use role-playable names. Names that create a phrase or mimic a product, media type or anything else related to the outside world will not be accepted. It’s not that tough to come up with a believable name. Ask for help if you need.
