Guilds? Fleets? Grouping?

i read some up details and the overview, maybe i missed the info.



Did it mention anything about guilds? cross-faction interaction? can i board a friends ship and hang out? is there ship collision? auction houses? raid groups? just some of the things i'm interested to know about this amazing game.

Yup there are definitely guilds in PotBS, and they are called societies within the game world.



Cross faction interaction can mean a lot of things...  The last I've heard, you will be able to communicate with enemy factions if you agree to learn their language (so if you do not learn their language you will not have to listen to them).  I think there will be international trade via NPC faction (the dutch), but there will be heavier taxes through dutch trade (??).  The nations are largely at war though, so I dont think youll be able to group with opposing nations (??).   RvR/PvP is a complex and very unique system of port conquest where nations battle for control of ports (most which are economic/military resources).  You're gonna have to look up more on this if youre interested. Its very interesting though.



You wont be hanging out on another players ship, and can only board a friendly ship to assist them in fighting off an enemy boarding party.  You'll be able to hang out with them in pubs, around docks, in adventure zones, and sail side by side with them in fleet though.



There is ship collision, and it becomes a big part of the games tactics depending on the goals of your battle.  Collisions arent really meant for damaging enemies though, I think the devs said that collisions dont even do any damage, they are more for knocking other players off course (??).



Yes to auction houses...



Raid groups will be limited, PotBS focuses heavily on player economy and there will not be elite raid items or anything, but I think there will be some interesting trophies and the devs have discussed some raid type content.  Dont expect WoW-like raids though, PotBS will not have such a heavy focus on equipment.

Yup.. Good overview.  And that preview of the game (whitewolf link above) really does a good job of letting gamers know what's coming.  Of course, it can come out completely different but it looks like an amazing game so far .

 

BTW: beta keys come out this month!

This is going to be a great game, I cannot wait to get into it.  There are indeed going to be guilds and such, but I haven't decided if I'm going to join any, I might just be a privateer and do it for King and Country alone.
