    If pvp is your thing then someone needs to mention Lineage 2.  And if you have the patience for Eve then you're good to go.

    I have played a lot of MMOs and as far as heart-pounding adrenaline-pumping pvp goes, L2 is the best.  The game's harsh world drives players towards conflict.  Resources are scarce and worth fighting for.  You either make friends or make enemies depending on politics, how you handle the situation, etc.  And the pvp flagging/karma system works very well.

    That said, L2's focus is end-game clan warfare and politics, which unfortunately means that you don't really get into it until the high 50s low 60s (a few months of grinding before the good part).

    As far as the big MMOs go, Eve's pvp is second only to L2's imo.  But Eve's PVP is unconventional; ie. more about cat-and-mouse or logistic combat than straight up brawling.  This isn't as exciting imo and therefore although Eve comes in second, it is a distant second.

    After that i don't know.  I turn my nose up at any game that doesn't have an open pvp model.  So WOW and all it's wannabes will never make the list.

    Hmmm, shame you didn't play DAOC, curious where you would rate that amongst those 2.

    Youre right, I only played the free trial and that was before i really got into MMOs.  Same with Shadowbane.

    DaoC is nowhere near where it was in it's great days, I know there's an expansion coming but as you said, it's clusters now. There's a REASON for those clusters, also I played on Euro servers which are a tad different from the US ones. I started out on US in the first month the game went on sale (Alb/Lancelot) but switched to euro later on because I couldn't cope with the timezone difference anymore. It will for a long time keep it's loyal followers simply because there's no other MMO like it, but once Mythic releases their new game I'm quite sure the DAoC server will dwindle into oblivion rather quickly.

    On EVE;

    You're still not using your brains but rather your muscles when it comes to money making in EVE. If you make a bog standard trading alt, park him in Jita 4-4 and use your BRAINS you can double your money every 7-10 days, regardless of the amount of cash you started with. If you start with 10 mil, you'll get 20. If you invest 500 mil, you'll get 1 bil, if you invest 3 bil, you get 6. It keeps scaling up due to the enourmous amounts of people and transactions there. All it takes is a trading alt with no other skills than he was made with, move him to Jita and start trading. He NEVER has to leave the station.

    So; 1 character you actually play, 2nd char to do your trading with, which takes a few minutes, several times a day.

    There aren't that many really good games, the ones that stand out because of their originality, fun and (in your case) PVP. From all the MMO's I've played I'd say that DAoC and EVE give you the best PVP if you're looking for meaningful, non-retarded, skill needing PVP. This not counting FPS like PVP as in Planetside (which can be epic). Pirates of the burning sea might be something but they're making it too easy already; caving in to the hordes of whiners.
