question about game

I am looking to get into this game but I was looking.  I see there was a few expansions, do I need to buy all the expansions or does the latest one contain all past versions and if not, then is there a collector pack I can buy that has all of them?

All 3 of the Guild Wars campaigns are stand alone games, you do NOT need all 3 to play one however having all 3 of them allows you to join the games together taking your characters through all campaigns and getting all features of the 3 games.

Each chapter is a standalone game. You don't need any of the other chapters to play, but you won't be able to access their content or skills.

The chapters each have their own collector's edition that gives you something extra (don't bother trying to get the Prophecies CE as it is pretty rare now has been up to $300+ because of it no longer being in production).

There is a sell at Sam's and Costco (not sure how long it will last though) and you can get all three chapters in a bundle for the price of one standard edition.

Prophecies is a first Arena.net released product . Faction is second . And NightFall is third . You dont need too buy all three too play GW . You can buy one of them by deciding witch is beter for you . If you will buy them all you will have all three campings , and your characters can go too other lands ( Prophecies -Tyria , Factions - Cantha , Nightfall - Elona ) . If you cant decide witch too buy go and find Topic with name " should i get prophecies,faction or nightfall? " about this question ( there is one ). I will tell my words agian ^^ : If you like long , awesome game and you want too make your character good at PvE (Player agianst Evrything )choise Prophecies . If you like not long , intresting game and you want too make your character good agianst PvP ( Player versus Player ) choise Faction . If you want short , intresting game and you want too make your character good at Farming ( Farming means earning cash ) choise NightFall . I recommend Prophecies ^^ .
