If this was any other game... Would you care if...
Put anything in there like:
1. If Devs played the game.
2. If an alliance was going to so called win the game or not.
3. If you got killed.
If someone does not like you any more.
ETC...
THAT is why this game is so great.
Only thing is, why are not millions wanting to play this incredible game then?
Too hard?
Too real?
Too many tin hats going around? lol.
Too much lag?
Maybe no where to walk around?
But whatever, millions could not play anyways. Unless some one puts every system on it's own server, or figures out how to get common data not to lag the system. You know like data that every one seas.
I care some what but it is just a game I CAN walk away from and then will no longer effect my life, so that's good.
Who knows...

That's really where they lose the numbers. A lot of people know MMO's these days, and they don't want to feel like a "noob" for 3-6 months. I tried to get a lot of old guildmates to play EVE on my ventrilo that we've been playing MMO's on for a while, with about 18 people, and most of them tried it, and they liked it, but they read up a lot and they realized it would take a few months to be competitive. Who wants to pay for a game to wait? They want to be able to go on a "sit on your ass" spree for a month or two max and be competitive with everyone else. This isn't a possibility in EVE, and it is a possibility in the major games like WoW etc...
I'm not saying that's how I am, though I understand their sentiments. A lot of people like EVE, they like the mechanics and art, but computer gamers are among some of the most impatient people alive today, and EVE, especially for the new player, is a test of patience.
In the end though, you really don't need "millions" or even hundreds of thousands playing EVE. This game usually has anywhere from 15k - 30k on the main server, and for one server, that's a healthy enough number to keep people feeling like it's populated.
Worry when it starts dropping below 15K on an average, and when you see more minutes between posts on the official EVE forums.
I dont think its unresnable but if they are cheating and takeing advantage of that , just like celbrities take advantage of prison system then its wrong. But if the work and play legal, imho its perfectly legal and let them have fun.
im gonna be trying this game soon wit a few buddies of mine who are burnt out of wow, unimpressed and vomtiing on lotro.
I been trying to read up on the game but GOD DAM! So mch info evrywhere yo.

Its a bit out of date, but you get the idea.
I been playing the game for almost 2 years now and it's frustrating when you hear that other players get special privileges just because they know someone inside the company. Do you think just because it's a game it's okay to cheat? Since it's a game how about if you heard that San Antonio spurs had cheated to reach the NBA finals...last time I check playing basketball is also a game, thus comparing it to playing eve has some weight.
People like me whine because of dissatisfaction we experience playing the game we love. And yes, I can walk away anytime but for now I'll wait if CCP will clean its act.

I am biased - I love this game
But for the record, I don't have msn access to the developers, nor do I feel I need too in any way to enjoy the game.
I think people can get too wrapped up in the out of game polotics and they stop enjoying the game itself. At that time it's best that one walks away from the game and takes a break - burn out.
At the end of the day, tens of thousands of players will continue to play Eve Online, and enjoy it a whole lot. I have been watching the population server status and I'm happy to say that it's actually grown to average well above 30,000 players during peak times now each night.
I hope you dont take this personally, I dont mean it to be. I just think that a campaign of continued negativity towards a computer game, is a little small minded and somwhat sad.
All the best,
