planning on making a decision today

i played ffxi a few years back, and loved it, but, becuase of time i can never get back into it....though i am thinking about tryin again : /

then agian...i played EQ2 the trail and i enjoyed it.

so...is there anyone that has played both that would give me an answer on what game i should go with.

 

also, is there alot of teamwork involved in eq2? ......and is it gonna lag with 1g of ram?

I don't know anything about FFXI, but yes, there is a lot of grouping and teamwork in EQ2, though there are plenty of solo options as well. I really recommend 2 GB of RAM for EQ2 but 1GB will certainly run the game.

EQ2 offers both ways. You can group through the current 70 lvl cap and you can solo through those 70 levels. And you can mix soloing and grouping like you want. The game doesnt end at 70, but grouping is needed more often then.



If i remember right, the game uses 1.3g memory if available. But i played it for quite a while with one. 2g is defenetely better.

I would suggest upgrading to 2 gig. I upgraded my systen to 2 gig and a medium priced graphics card and it made all the difference in the world. SOE has taken some big steps in making EQ2 solo friendly, so you can go either way with it. Time is another issue. I stopped playing because I didn't have the time to put into it. In my opinion EQ2 is the best MMORPG out there right now. LOTRO is getting better.
