Fun story!!!! So I was in WSG in WoW level 29 hunter right, my brother got me all the good gear this is way before twinks rights, so I had the flag and we were losing 2-0 and I was like ok I will win this for us. I get two inches from the flag thing and hackers begin their twilight around this time, and suddenly I am dead and my revive time is 30 seconds but oddly enough my gear is gone. Ok I figure glitch I go on playing, and then the next day I log on my character is stuck in WSG no gear and GM ticket is no longer there. I have no clue what happened and then I get an email saying I have been banned for hacking..... I lost that character and my brothers 60.....The game didnt make me cry he did but it was weird and pissed me off but anyway MMO's control peoples minds to do harmful things.
I cried when I resubbed my WoW account for the 3rd time with my tabletop group and they STILL wouldn't party with me till I was 60 dispite what they said previously.
I know this is mean, but, I died of laughter aftering reading this.
Only game that ever made me cry was Knights of the Old Republic. That game was awesome...and the end made me cry not just because how it ended...but because I knew I'd never play another game that was so good.
does laughing so hard your eyes start watering count?..lol
it was back when i played EQOA there was this idiot and his name was "Sub".now Sub was one of those idiots that calls everyone and anyone a "noob" for any or no reason,no one could stand him AT ALL. he was so annoying from when i was told he was moved around from server to server by the gms because no one could stand him but he didn't really do anything to break the rules he was just REALLY annoying.
now this one day i had been up for like 27 hours (BAD case of insomnia) was just running around on my character in Freeport, targeted this guy and he was in a guild named..."Sub's name is Sub because he's always got meat between his bunns". i started laughiung my ass off, was telling everyone in guild they came out and saw the guy. well like idk around 1/2 hour to an hour later i finally REALLY got the joke/name of the guild. super tired didn't sink in that Sub is like subway and sub being a type of sandwich the whole meat and bunns thing made more sense..lol yeah laughed even harder after i figured it out, laughed so hard i was crying..lol i'm sure the lack of sleep made it even funnier, everything is hilarious when you're that sleep deprived.
I find it strange that some people here think it's odd for players to get emotional over a game. I've read books that have made me cry, and I've seen movies that have made me cry. It is not surprising to me that another form of storytelling, the video game, can evoke the same emotion.
Having said that, I haven't quite played a game yet that has reached the artistry required to evoke that emotion in me from pure gameplay . I did get weepy when SWG-NGE hit and my Master Creature Handler was wiped out. But that had nothing to do with the artistry of the game and everything to do with my bitterness and rage at SOE.
Perhaps one day the Beethoven or Billy Wilder of MMOs will come along and give me an artistic reason to cry. I'd truly like to see it someday.

Do not hate it, but instead embrace the diversity.
