Basic Everquest 2 FAQ - READ THIS BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS

CeohaiCeohai Member Posts: 305
Well since it seems like the same questions are being asked over and over and over again, I felt like I should make a simple FAQ that answers the most common ones. If anyone wants to add to this feel free to do so, or to ask any GENERAL questions in this thread.

Q: Is this game any good?

A: Yes. If you want to find out for yourself, try one of the free trials, both the The Play the Fae trial and the Trial of the Isle trials are available.

Q: Do I have to buy all of the expansions?

A: No. You just need to buy the latest expansion, Echoes of Faydwer, which costs around 40USD, and this will grant you access to EQ2, Kingdom of Sky, Dessert of Flame, and the Echoes of Faydwer expansions.

NOTE: Only a retail copy of the game will grant you access to the original game and all of the expansion, a download purchased from Sony will only grant you access to the latest expansion.

Q: I can't find a retail copy of Echoes of Faydwer anywhere, what should I do?

A: You can also purchase retail CD-Keys from a few websites (onlinecdkey.com), these CD-Keys are just like retail copies of the game, other than the fact you have to download the actual game.

Q: Can European players play on North American Servers?

A: Yes.

Q: Are there any people that are still low leveled?

A: Yes, on most servers there is a healthy amount of new and returning players.

Q: What's a good server to choose?

A: Antonica Bayle if you're looking for an RP server, Nagafen if you're looking for PVP, and almost any PvE server is a good choice if you're looking for PvE.

Q: Does EQ2 have player housing?

A: Yes, there are several instanced housing options available.

Q: Could I solo in this game?

A: Yes, there is a lot of solo content, including quests and instances, in the game, as well as a lot of single group content. You could solo to level 70 without too many problems.

Q: Can I upgrade my trial account to the full game without losing my characters?

A: Yes

Good Q&A, but to this question I would add: (But not in the free trials). A lot of people think the servers are seperated because in the free trials you cannot chose between Euro and American servers, only if you buy the game you can.

Outstanding mini-FAQ.  Though I doubt this will help with the redundant questions, resourceful people will find it and make use of it.

I say sticky. Seems pretty good to me and stops some "repeat" questions.

Might also add something to the effect of:

Yes, you can find groups.  Yes, there are people playing at all levels.  No, the servers are not empty.  No, you are not the first person to post a "Should I come back" thread.  Today.  This hour.
