If cheap is what your looking for....
Check out Circuit City, Conns, Fry's, Comp USA, Office Depot - all big names in a lot of towns
Usually from these stores a HP or Gateway is going to give you the best bang for your buck.

yeah i bought this computer at Costco ..cheap...but my father told me like 20 minutes ago that it has to be at bestbuy....becuase of something with his credits....i really dont know....but please people help me and tell me which computer will be fast to play games like...americas army,WoW, Guild wars, Auto Assult, Rf Online..those are some examples....becuase my computer is too old for those games and it has a Geforce 6200 =( ....i dont know if its a good graphic card but whatever...please help me make a good choice
Anything you buy from Bestbuy under $700 is going to require you to buy a better graphics card.
So make sure you account for that to play those games. Look for deals under $600 to allow $100 for a new card.
Processor: A Dual-core processor. Preferably a Intel Core 2 Duo, but doesnt have to be. If its not a Core 2 Duo though get a AMD Athlon 64 X2. Dont get any other dual core lineups! They are cheapos and not worth it. Anyway Id say your best bet is get one with a Intel Core 2 Duo E4300. or if AMD then a AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ or higher.
RAM: You'll need at least 1GB. Now payattention. Do not get 533mhz DDR2. Get DDR2 667mhz. The Intel Core 2 Duos match up nicely with that for max performance. If you get a AMD X2 try for a 800mhz, but 667mhz is fine. But make sure its 1GB.
Hard Drive: Shoot for a SATA interface. IDE is slow and outdated now.
VGA: Does not matter because you will be buying one separate. But when buying separate go for a nVidia GeForce 7600GT, but I am not sure what Bets Buy will charge so settle for a high end 6-series for now or go for a 7600GS.
thx for the info ..but i cant find a pc that has ta Dual-processor or an intel 2 Duo with a SATA interface or 1G......if u see one please tell me....maybe i didnt see it
wait ...i foudn this one 20 minutes later...it is good??

or post website of the one u recommend
Looking here at the local best buy near me it looks like the:
Gateway 5000+ GT5432 is the better deal, then go for the VisionTek RADEON X1550 Graphics Card VTK X1550256PCIE.
So that comes to $580 + $107 = $687.
or :
Hewlett-Packard Pavilion 4200+ Desktop a6000n and the same card = $530 +$107 = $637
I prefer the HP because I dislike Gateway more than I dislike HP. But the gateway is a faster computer with SATA II.
can someone please give me the website at bestbuy with the graphic card xpyrofuryx said....the Nvivia Gforce 7600GT or 7600GS ..cant find it
Buy this computer: www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp
That is $420, and has a dual-core processor in it, SATA Hard Drive, 1GB 533mhz, but with a computer at best buy I guess thats the best you'll get RAM-wise.
Buy this Graphics Card: www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp
That is $200, and a nVidia GeForce 8600GT. It is a mid-range card that will push about the same performance as the 7600GT, mayeb a little more, but has the added feature of DirectX10 support.
With the remaining money buy this: www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp
That is $90, and is a 1GB stick to add to the system you are getting, This will boost up your performance greatly.
With all of this you will have a really good gaming machine actually from Best Buy (i never thought i'd say that).
Your system will have this:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ Dual-Core
2GB DDR2 533mhz
250GB S-ATA 3Gb/s HD
nVidia GeForce 8600GT 256mb
Not bad... I impress myself
