Folks,
Just to clarify a few things:
1) Those that signed up for the newsletter, prior to this issue, are considered preferred candidates for the beta pool. So, if you've already signed up, no worries, your group is at the top of the list for admissions into the beta.
2) A % of preferred beta candidates (we are obviously not letting everyone into the beta right away) will get into the beta way before the individuals/groups that were given their beta slot randomly (or by showing up) or by attending things like Gamesday. And when I mean way before, I mean months, not weeks.
3) As people come and go from the beta new people will be pulled from the preferred list into the game on a ongoing basis.
4) As we go "wide" with our beta and once again need more people, the names will be pulled from the preferred candidate list.
5) If we decide to go really wide open with the beta, we'll look to the preferred candidates first and everyone else second.
So, if you're concerned about the giveaways don't be, being an early newsletter subscriber is still your best chance to get into the beta, especially in the earliest stages.
I hope this clears things up.
Mark
