Does anyone get the feeling this game will be similar to Planetside, with a fantasy setting?
I know WAR going to be more item based than Planetside;but will WAR ultimately end up being a pvp zergfest?
A game like this is fun; but it gets old fast, if you play mmorpgs over 10 hours per day.
Personally,I hope they add a TON of end game PVE Raiding and PVE content so it's not like doing WOW BGs 24/7.
I'm going to be playing AoC for sure.
I hope EA/Mythic don't forget about HARDCORE mmorpg players.

As this link will tell you, mythic are aiming the game in another direction that wow. In the way that you would not meet players having crazy items that has taken a decade to find through raiding, and then get your ass kicked cause of his items. So that the casual player wouldn't be killed by three punches or spells. As for end game city siegeing will be the main thing to do, as for how long it will take to capture a city hasn't been revealed yet. But my guess is quite some time maybe a couple of weeks or more

Try to understand that for a Greenskin, a day that starts by killing someone with your bare hands and ends with those same hands being chopped off in battle is a good day!
You really need to read about the game before you post misinformation of course then again your last two lines of your post make me think its completely on purpose like this Supernerd. WAR has PVE, PVE Public, PVE raids (only a couple since its mostly about RVR, PVP Battlegrounds, Open PVP areas, and lots of RVR. This is nothing like Planetside's set up. Planetside doesn't even have easter egg quests hidden out in the world to find if you go exploring.
Please Refer to Doom Cat with all conspiracies & evil corporation complaints. He'll give you the simple explination of..WE"RE ALL DOOMED!
Currently they are planning for one City taken per Week.
Bad News IMO, as this sounds WAY too short to me, I fear it loses it's epic feeling and the feeling of accomplishment, when you raid a city every week...also, quite the routine could occur, though it'll always be different through the PvP element....
But then again... if you fought for your Realm for 7 days, pushed the frontier towards your enemy...could be epic enough, and longer times might suck for those, who whyever missed the sacking of a city...
We'll see, and since it's only in very early Beta, such things are likely to be changed a lot. I guess currently they are experimenting with different setups.
I did enjoy Daoc, and i'm glad WAR going to focus pvp different than Wow.
The old frontiers were great, you could dominate the map due to certain "chokepoints" with a very small force.
i hope WAR has chokepoints when you have to defend so smaller force has a chance.
Doac seperated pve/pvp areas. You went to frontiers you were looking for pvp.
There wasn't any ganking or element of surprise, because you fought people looking for a fight.
it's fun for a while, but i like to attack anyone anywhere at anytime in mmorpgs.
i like to attack crafters or someone fishing or someone who may not be running around looking to fight or defend something.
It's hard to explain i guess.
And for that "Attacking everyone everywhere"...
No. Won't be possible in WAR. You have PvE Areas and PvP Areas.

I think WAR will be fun.
i'm sure i will play it.
Not sure how long it will last me though.
I usually have a decided advantage over them due to gear or level.
If you just want to log on and pvp for 10 ,15 min at a time why not just play an fps?
I'm not saying WAR will not be successful or unfun.
I'm just wondering how long will people stay interested.
WAR is coming?
What kind of WAR keeps the carebears safe in special leveling areas apart from the pvp?
