I've played EQ 1, Guild Wars, SWG and WoW. I'm fed up with all those games, and I'm really looking forward to WAR...I've been bored lately and I am wondering if DAoC is fun; it always looked like an amazing game, but I never got to try it. I'd like to have some infos on the current state of the game (as well as if there has been graphic upgrades since the early days, etc.). Worth starting playing it now or not? How expensive is it also? Thx folks.

- New graphics.
- Some good design decisions that for some reasons the competitors never took or adapt in game, must see them. (some where borrowed of course, but a few good where not) /stick and buffing your group mate once are two example of bright features stolen by the bright competitors.
- Various servers with various rules. I want a no-ToA version of Gaheris damn it!

Check out some single player RPGs, some FPSs and some RTSs. Lots of great non-MMO games out there.
Jade Empire is fun. If you hadn't played KOTOR, yet I would say play it.
Battlefield games are good shooters (just ignore that they are EA).
Have you played Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines yet? Very cool single player RPG.
Tried CoV/H with a name like J35u5?
You would make a wonderful villain...or Hero.

That's hilarious, I also have been playin Kotor 1.
Bought it off ebay for like 13 bucks and been havin a ball. First made a lightsaber lawnmower of death with practically no force powers and now im gonna try a super techy dark force choker who cant swing a saber to save his life .
Single player definately seems to be where it's at right now considering the MMO are gettin boring as hell.
a lot of folks who play MMOs get bought in to the idea that they can be the games King or Lord or Uber Best
if you can get past the point that someone ..whoever that might be.. but the fact that somebody will always be better than you.. you might have more fun in MMO's
oh.. this logic is also very common among coaches. if any of you have ever played any sports, you may have heard this before
personal best, or in the MMO case.. Personal Enjoyment. The only reason an MMO wouldnt be "worth it", is if you're going out in to that MMO trying to be better than whoever may be considered "top rank".
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
But it all feels a bit lonely. Gameplay is a billion times better than any MMORPG, but even when you are soloing in a MMO, there is still a feeling of some social connection.
You have to respect the peoples who are better than you. If someone who doesn't train and is fat like hell is better then me in a sport, I would not play that sport long, nor train for it. The fact they become better by eating gravy and drinking beer would not make me enjoy this sport more and want to play it. I don't play darts, don't especially respect profesionnal darts throwers and never will. Now if God would have made them all better than me at hockey because they throw darts, it wouldn't make sense...but as you know, dart throwing isn't going to make you a better hockey player then someone who is playing hockey and training a lot for it instead of playing darts.
Accepting that someone who DESERVES it is better is something. Accepting that LEECHES are better than pro, this is trash. Best groupers deserve to be groupers. This is not open for debate.
See, if I am to IMPROVES and progress, I need to respect the peoples who are ahead of me. I will never respect peoples who raid to be better in groups. They neither deserve it, nor command it, nor show the related skills in groups.
Sure, life isn't fair. Some peoples get it easier then other (get loot fast or camped it forever?, get extra adds or not?, class imbalances (within some limits)). But at least, peoples who are ahead of me earn it the right way. Not by playing a FOREIGN gameplay.
PvP, Raid, Tradeskills...that shouldn't lead to PvE-grouping mastery better then grouping itself. Best groupers deserve to be groupers.
