Are supergroups basically clans or what? I am buying COH on monday, and I am just curious to see if I should try to make a strong clan section in my clan. Thanks mates!!!

The supergroups are what other mmorpgs call clans, yes. Pretty soon they're implementing Supergroup headquarters for the supergroups...although Im pretty sure there will be some sort of group "sacrifice" or "grind" to obtain one.
The ones I cant wait to see are the City of Villains Headquarters
Also, when you are involved in supergroup mode you will wear the colors determined by the leader as well as bear the group's insignia. However, you have to be at lvl 10 to start your own SuperGroup.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
To prevent a misunderstanding:
you might not know from En1gma's post but supergroup mode is optional (toggles on and off) , and you set the manner in which the colors are applied to your character.

Good luck starting a Super Group. I have had a real hard time getting our numbers up. I have seen alot of SGs with like 5-6 people in them.
It will probably be like this until the trials that require 20-50 heroes in the same SG to complete go live.
