Stumbled upon this slideshow of players and their characters on Blue's News and thought I'd post here for anyone that wants a glimpse.

New York Times?  Now I really wonder if this is vaporware.  Anything coming out of the New York Times has to be suspect in terms of veracity.

any any excuse .... Interesting if you could explain the relationship of the slides and Vaporware.

Currently there are a number of compilations and especially one book I know of that interview players and their Avatars, It is a starting point for social comparisson and discussion of what can be lernt form the individuals and communities with online environment. Nothing sinister just fun...

Strange how some people think !!

I'm going to take a wild guess and say the relationship you missed in that post was "sarcasm". :p

I don't have alts. And if I felt like discussing this issue, I think you know from past experience I am not bashful about expressing my opinions.

Sorry but your name is synonymous with Vaporware, you have brainwashed me all i can think of now if Vapor Ware is mentioned is Amathe. My mind needs to be cleansed so that I can regain my sanity.

This thread isn't about that, so I haven't talked about that issue. Do you want me to? I hear people say they don't want me to introduce that topic into every thread, and yet here my name is invoked and the very people complaining about it are talking about it. Either stop bandying my name about or I will accept your invitation to write another essay on HJ being vaporware. It is an issue near and dear to my heart so I really don't need much encouragement, but I was trying to stay on topic. For now.

No worries I will stop. Stepping out onto a floating stone Isane realises just too latye that it is actually charged with more negative energy than any mortal could surely survive, and is instantly **********.

Ah - I can just see, how it will be! Young, innocent mmorpg members will be taken aside by older, wiser ones and they will teach them the terrible secret of these forums:

"Don't mention "you know who", or the curse of vapourware will fall upon you and all the games you love...."

On some level I hope you understand that this issue is not about me. I happen to be one person with that opinion. My advice to you and others is to just play the game. Oh wait, there is no game. Well then go participate in the beta. Hmmm. No beta. How about you go read all the new stuff on their updated website? Not much there either. Well then just look forward to the target dates for the beta or the game. Darn. Those don't exist either. Ah well, you can always spend the time flaming me about how I am barking at the moon over thinking this game won't release. No reason for me to think that, surely?

HJ is looking fantastic nod !! nod !! and I'm guessing Beta will be no more than a load test  due to all the extra development on the Hero Engine... And Dedicated GMs...

This is a story about the young boy who cried "Goblin with a flamethrower of intense heat" , the boy cried and cried and cried but when the townsfolk came to his aid there was no goblin. Elsewhere the goblin was building his empire expanding his caves oblivious to the concern of the young boy. Polishing his flamethrower and doing what all good goblins do.The moral of the story here is that no matter how loud you shout their is always two sides to a story, and the Goblin with his flamethrower is waiting for us all.

Simutronics are doing exactly what they should be doing getting on with their business and their jobs. Just beware that Goblin with his flamethrower of Intense heat if he gets you you will be vapor.

I agree with you, but that has got to be one of the worst, most nonsensical, failed attempts at a humorous allegorical slight that I've seen in quite some time. You aped "The Boy Who Cried Wolf," inexplicably adding a goblin with a flamethrower, then threw out the ACTUAL moral of the pre-existing story to make up a new one? The point of the boy who cried wolf is that you shouldn't lie because then people will stop believing you. Not really relevant to this discussion. I'm not even going to ask about your translation of parable to moral also including a fictional flamethrower-wielding monster.

The moral here is very very acurate and you don't understand the history behind this thread...

Well the Goblin = Simutronics working in the background oblivious to moronic taunts from people who should know better

The flamethrower of intense heat  can "vapourize things"

And the boy who cried wolf is well you have to guess who that is because i have told you too much have fun.

(Showing one that someone has destroyed their own reputation and secondly that the third party is working hard :)

Really, it's being about like any other game, and any other gaming company..

Amathe is being like the average negative side of the fanbase watching the game.  There will always be a possitive side and a negative.  Admittedly, because how things have gone, it feels like they've been working on the game twice as long as they really have.  However, Steph is not part of the gaming engine team and we can see she is not out of a job on the HJ team yet, so it is not quite vaporware.
