Need help finding new Game.

okay so i know that you must get this a lot but i really need help. i just recently decided to quit WoW and find something else to play. I've been playing WoW for about a year and after i got to level 40 on two guys i just got bored. I've recently started playing neverwinter nights (original) And i have figured out that is what i want in a game. I want to be able pretty much make my own guy, his own configuration and everything. I tried DDO and i liked it. Only problem was is that it seemed empty. not much people and throughout that 10-day trial i only got a group ONCE. so it kinda brought me down a little. please tell me anything you think might be good for me to try. thanks a lot =]

If you like ...or think you would like...a game that is very open..very sandbox oriented then play Vanguard.

You can do just about anything you want. Fly...sail..build a house...craft...harvest...diplomacy. You can quest...explore...raid. The world is massive...seemless ( no zones ) and beautiful.

If you like heavy group raiding action...then wait till after the server merge, but if you like to solo and explore on your own..try Vanguard now!

I've put about 1000 hours in the game and my to-do list is a mile long. I'll be there for years to come I suspect.

Have fun in whatever new game you choose though!

So, you have a leisure advancement speed, want character customization, and consider easy grouping to be important. I'd suggest Lord of the Rings Online.

vanguard is p2p and made by SOE (this means nothing to me but everything to others) but LotRO is also p2p, btw

I tested almost all the games, and played, since it comes out (and betas) guild wars, also, lot of time in l2, and some wow (w t f... this is the worst mmorpg never seen!) also, flyff, and lot of free mmorpg, finally i start playing, without faith, City of Heroes/Villains and... this game is awesome, three years old and games lotro cant compete with it!? You say lotro is good? another l2 clone in tolkiens world, with suck movemente, poor pvp... lotro has only name, as wow has only marketing...

If not that, then try its counterpart: City of Villains. Out of the 20 or so MMORPGs that I have played (yes, all big boys included), CoV is probably the only fun one I have ever experience. It is the only game where I have wanted to come back simply because of it. Its always been clans, friends, boredom with other games. For CoV, I go back because the game itself is fucking amazing.

Okay, City of Heroes and City of Villains i out. I dont want to play a game that looks like you're obsessed with superheros or supervillians. it's just not my style. I'd rather play somethings thats not a human. If i wanted to play a human i'd quit all games and just live my life lol

really suggest you give it more thought than that, what they say is true, CoV/CoH is defiantly DIffrent than teh norm.



Of the games I can suggest, Eve, and CoX are teh only 2 I can truly/honestly say are 'new' and not like the rest(Wow, LotRo, eq, etc, all the same ol' same ol to me. Sadly I must have no immagination because they are all teh same crap with diffrent skins - CoX and Eve are both DIFFRENT than that, and both are very fun.)



BTW u do not have to be 'human' and u can also be 'normal(IE most of my chars are normal blokes with more power.. no fancy suits, the exception being Lord ChunkyButt who is a freaking ego overdosed metrosexual big fat guy -- it's also gotta be the BEST charactor development in regards to creation and customization of your toon -- it's possible, btu sorta hard to copy someone else)

EQ2 or LoTRO may be what you are looking for then.  They are the closest to the games you mentioned that I can think of.

OK....you are definatly wrong.  You should put more thought into City of Heroes/Villains.  They are EXTREMELY fun.  They are the only 2 MMO's that I have liked enough to get to the highest level.  It does not ever get old because once you level one character up...there is a whole nother game once you make a new toon.

    The only thing that is childish is the fact that you are not willing to try something just cuz it sounds dumb.  It is seriously in my opinion the funest 2 RPG's made.  Right next to WoW.

I suggest you at least give CoV a try. You don't have to be human, it all depends on the customization....and trust me. CoV's Customization system is fucking amazing, one of the biggest out there (if not THE biggest). Try the trial. As for LotrO, I'd stay away from that. Boring clone made in the the LOTR universe. I didn't find it fun at all. If you are looking for something different, try EVE, something purely fun, try CoV/CoH.

Personally, I've been thinking about jumping back into UO with the new graphics and everything. That game offers a very wide variety of choices. Not in character appearance but in skills and things you can do. I know plenty of people who had pure craftsmen characters. While others had pure war's or mages. Then when the game really gets interesting is the hybrids like a war/mage or a mage/tamer (deadly combo). But it gives you so many options in your choices of skills. Also it gives you the freedom to build a house however you like it. Finally, you can do anything from sell stuff by running a small business, hunt and earn money, or craft, etc (alot more options) pvp is some peoples life. But i think it would be a good starting point. It has a wide variety. It's like a buffet, why get all chicken? Theres steak and pizza why not have it all? thats what UO is to me.

I dunno. City of ******^ just doesnt seem like my bowl of soup. it's just too Kiddish. I dont want to be a superhero nor do i want to be a supervillian. I'd rather have something where i can weild a sword or something like that too lol.
