Its really hard to compare a game that has been published and is really boring and a game that has not been published and is build on Warcraft and is made by Blizzard.
Go World of Warcraft!!

yah i beleave wow is gona take the top for mmorpgs i love blizzards games and they have never let me down except for the hacks ON D2 they should die for killing such a great game!!!!!!
Yes, WOW is going to easily going to be the best MMORPG ever! CoH is a really good game, but WOW will be many many times better! WOW will also be better then other highly anticipated MMORPGs like EQ2 and GW! There are a lot of really great MMORPGs out right now and coming out over the next 6 months, but WOW will reign supreme over them all as the best MMORPG of the lot! Blizzard is an incredible game developer and they won't disappoint with World of Warcraft. I know I sound like I'm from the Blizzard marketing department, but this game ownz my life!

I once spent over 2 hours scrolling through over 700 WOW screenshots... this game ownz my life, I wish I was in the beta... I hope that they go open beta soon so that I can do more then just look at screenshots of the game! I never been as excited about a single game as I am about WOW, Blizzard's really done something right on this one!

These games could not be more opposite if they tried. One is set in a modern city populated by superheroes and the other is a fantasy based RPG.
I have played both and am currently subscribed to COH and I really enjoy it, it is a great game that has a lot of potential, especially with new update coming soon.
WOW is also an incredible game, I personally think its scope is much larger than COH and it is much more polished (considering it is still in closed beta) but it does address a different genre of gaming that not everybody will enjoy.
Now there are some other cool games to keep your eye on, Dark and Light, Guld Wars, Matrix Online, Ryzom and of course Everquest 2. All of these look like they may have some impact in the MMORPG world and could turn out to be WOW and COH beaters in their own right. I will buy WOW when it goes retail and I will probably keep my subscription to COH as well.
One thing is certain however, the next year is going to get very intersting and the choice of quality games to play over the Internet will have never been so good.
I love fantasy games. That's why I like WoW more then CoH. But I don't know if I like the WoW graphics. I have to play the game to see if I like it.
I think CoH will be fun for a few weeks, but after that it will be the same, a good MMORPG, must have more then only fighting, and questing. I played a lot of MMORPGs, and I only played UO for 3 years. It has terrible graphics (but I loved them ^^), but it has so much more to do then only fighting.
Crafting, gathering, taming, buying your own house and decorate it, walking around and looking at other ppls houses. It felt like a living world, something I don't see in other MMORPGs.
I did quit, first place it had a really bad community and second it was ruined with every new expansion.
I hope WoW can have the depth of UO, if it has that it can be a great game, if not then it is just like all other MMORPGs. But this is just my opinion ^^
I am currently in City of Heroes, and I love the game. I will probably try out WoW when it comes out or goes open beta, but unless it blows my socks off, I will probably stick with CoH.
I would normally say its too early to tell since WoW isnt released yet but I found CoH so mind numbingly boring that WoW gets my early vote.
I am not sure if it was the genre, the mechanics, the content, or what, but I have never developed a total lack of interest in playing a mmorpg as fast as I did with CoH.

I'm sorry how did you find FFXI interesting and CoH boring? It boggles my mind.
BTW.
As stated before this is a WoW forum, and I personally think WoW will be a superior title because it gives more than fighitng.
I think FFXI is a far more interesting game but it had too many things I disliked to stick with it for the long term. By the time I was in the fifties I was not enjoying the game at all due to some of its design.
With CoH I just found myself bored in the extreme very quickly. The game runs very smoothly and has some great aspects but something about it just didn't appeal to me for more then a few days. Maybe its just not the genre for me, though I always thought super heroes were interesting.
I wouldnt endorse FFXI by any means as I think it is a middle of the road mmorpg at very best but I did prefer it to CoH and think WoW will be better then either.
For every wierd person who actually thinks that City of Heroes is better than Word of Warcraft is going to be, Please rethink it. There is no game that is or will become even close to the class of World of Warcraft. That game has it all. Graphics, Gameplay, Exelent sounds, Has a great community and will also have really good costomer service. I mean come on! its BLIZZARD!
WoW will be better. I've been playing CoH since the first day it came out and it simply lacks content compared to msot mmorpgs. There isn't enough stuff to do except run repetitive missions and kill thugs. If players were able to destroy cars, kill pedestrians, etc then maybe I would change my mind though
Blizzard has been around a long time and they know how to do it from past experince with games like diablo and of course the warcraft saga. But i still think that city of heroes is gonna be a great game but not up to par with WoW.
Blizzard made alot of great games from experiences from other games... but they dont have experience in the MMORPG department... they might be able to pull it off... but remember... they dont know much about MMORPG's..
not sayin they wont succeed.. alot of companies with there first MMORPG succeeded.
Im just curious becuase most of you like WoW and most of you like the same type of mmorpg's that I do. What mmorpg are you playing now i have been looking for one for awhile now and now im asking you all what games are you all playing before WoW comes out.
I use to be into Earth and Beyond... that was a great game until the idiotic fools known as EAGames cancelled the project... which would be a mistake that will hang over them until the day they will die...
So pretty much.. i play sci-fi and fantasy MMORPG's mostly all mmorpg's that have good potential.

That's sorta a biased question, since this is a WoW thread. So most of the ppl here, love WOW.
As Oracale already stated.
Since WoW owns me as well, I'm curious how much time a day does everyone spend reading about, looking for WoW info-screenshots-movies?
