I have been looking at this game and want to play it but I need a few questions answered first.
1)In all the pictures I have seen of the elves they are all female, can they be male too?
2)Are there any fun things to do like have a farm, house, etc?
3)How is the role-playing in this game,I am a die hard of roleplay and I hear this game may be a good choice.
4)How does economy work? Are there channels to ask for trade items and goods like WoW did?
5)Is this game worth buying?

1) Q: In all the pictures I have seen of the elves they are all female, can they be male too?
A: Yes, there are male and femal elf avatars.
2) Q: Are there any fun things to do like have a farm, house, etc?
A: Yes, you can farm, make weapons, clothing, etc. (player housing is planned for the future).
3) Q: How is the role-playing in this game,I am a die hard of roleplay and I hear this game may be a good choice.
A: Yes there are strong RP communities on U.S. server "Landroval" and the EU has an official RP server.
4) Q: How does economy work? Are there channels to ask for trade items and goods like WoW did?
A: It works like WoW, with an Auction House system and a "Trade" chat channel.
5) Q: Is this game worth buying?
A: Yes

1) Yes, Elves can be Male as well as Female. All races in LotRO, Hobbits, Elves, Humans, and Dwarves, can be either Male or Female -- complete with a broad range of custimization options to make your character very personally developed.
2) Yes, as previously stated, Trademarks (Armorsmithing, Weaponsmithing, gathering resources, Farming, etc.) are an option. Any character can do a trademark and each one is very easy to pick up and excell at. Not only that, but there is also the PvP system in which you can act the part of a monster and attack players. Right now, the Summer Solstice festival is taking place, in which you can play scavanger hunts, dance parties, beer drinking/questing, fireworks displays, and interacting with more players online (which, as I was just on, might be more entertaining than the events). There are also Deeds which can be completed through various (although sometimes tedious and boring) quests such as pie-running, delivering mail, and killing X amount of a certain monster.
3) Role-playing, in my experience, isn't that great. There is no 'RP Server' officially for the U.S., although some are more RP than others. The Europe client has several RP servers in which, I heared, are great role-playing communities. In my own oppinion, however, this is, regrettably, not a strong suit in the Lord of the Rings universe, at least at the moment. There are rumors (and mind you, they are ONLY rumors) that there will be an official RP server on the America client. We can only hope. For now, I'm tempted to switch servers.
4) There is a specific trade channel, yes. Often times, trades will be mentioned in the OOC channel as well. There is an Auction system in place, but it's not that great at the moment. Give it a little more time for more players to reach higher levels, and there will be more items up for Auction. There is no merchant system to date, but there are more rumors suggesting such a concept might be initiated. It depends on your point of view, but I'd rather it stay as is.
5) I say --- No... Not for the price I paid!!! if it was $30.00 or even $40.00 (depending on how much you can commit to playing it) then I'd say yes. It's a great game overall, although if you don't have a reliable (mind you, not exactly good, just reliable) internet connection or a half-decent (look at the specs) computer, then it might be a waste. Overall, it's a great game and, at the very least, deserves a Try.
By the by, Valu, if this isn't convincing enough, I have a spare Buddy key.
