also the vocal minority on the official site, will account for less than 2% of the total player base.
I don't browse on official forum anymore, becouse the most of the threads are crap now.
Only on Fridays when is update from devs.
(really immature)
I about blew coffee out of my nose laughing so hard.
The idea that someone posting on the mmorpg.com forums would call another forum immature was something I never thought I'd see.
I'd agree though that over the past few months things have changed, and I'm sure that people who have spent time there even longer will notice more of a change.
Still though...someone here calling another forum immature...wow...pot, meet kettle.
its fun and makes a great way to past time at work flaming the noobs and old farts on lotro offcial forums and aoc
its also more fun reading the lotro forums than playing the game ,forums need gangstars and the people who only want world peace, otherwise it would be a luv fest and those are not cool
WORD LIFE LAWL SAUCE
I tend to follow the forums of a new MMO I like until it gets to the point where too many people know about it. That just means chaos, repeated questions, flaming and terrible grammar. Then I just sit back and watch for interesting threads, i.e. the ones posted by devs.

I think the other part to that is there is really a limit about what can be discussed because there is just not all the info we'd want released. People can speculate, guess, and discuss things, but it's cyclical, the discussions that happened 3 months ago are begining again, with a new group of people. How many times do you really want to participate in the same discussion?
To me, that tends to leave people who have been around as jaded, especially when they, as the core community realize the difference between what was fun conversation, and how most of the new players act...as if their opinions are "right" and "fact" to them it's an argument, and not a discussion.
Heh yes, I remember the Twilight: After the Fall forums (R.I.P.). I was on them fairly early, and I was reading and posting in almost every topic, because they were interesting and lead to good ideas and suggestions that the devs took to heart. Fast forward a couple of months, and it was an overwhelming stream of "zomg will this game have psionics?" (a topic I had literally written pages on earlier) and the like.

I lurked for a bit then, and I wish I had signed up back then, and gotten to know, and more involved with the community then, as opposed to earlier this year.
After years of playing MMORPG's, I sometimes hesitate getting involved so early in the process, simply because there just isnt that much to discuss, and there is more to speculate on. Plus, the more you get interested, the more you really want to play....
Of course then I took a turn and dug up just about EVERYTHING I could find about the game, and came to the realization that AoC was a game that I wanted to play, because my tastes had changed over the years, and that AoC seemed to be offering exactly what it is that I'm looking for in a game. At that point, I realized that other than UO, the game I had the most fun with, which was SWG, I'd gotten involved early, gotten involved with a guild, and all of that involvement, made a much stronger tie to the game for me. Using that experience...well...I jumped in with both feet.
Either or..harder now to post on the O-Forums, but still enough to read there I suppose. Just hoping that E3 brings a plethora of new info!
it depends on your definition on immature. some people like to have fun and post funny stuff but for some people they consider that immature. i on the other hand only think people are immature when they dont know when to stop. also any post like doodoohead or stuff like that automatically makes you immature in my opinion. also any post about anything that has to do with sex alot of times makes me worry about the guy. if your talkin that much about sex in a game or about games than you must not get much if any.
hopefully parents will keep there kids out of the game since its rated m. i know some parents are gonna buy this for their kids but hopefully the kids that get this have some maturity in them. if not then maybe the developers watchin over the game will suspend them or somthin when they act immature and stupid.

It's been a wasted morning at work since I saw this thread, because I've been refreshing this page since then. I just KNEW that you'd see this thread, and I'd been dying to get your response.
I can only guess that you laughed harder, and longer than I did!

The official forums are hitting the break point where the influx of new people is outweighing the ability for people to get informed so the threads stay about the same and in droves.
