Someone explain the point of having a point and shoot (i know its not an FPS) type interface and not actually making it an FPS.

I think this game will be more like Unreal 2 single player, but with co-op play, and MMORPG type stuff.
It might even be fun
How can the OP compare TR with Auto Assault is beyond me.... game is wayyyy better than AA in all aspects.
Hm, I'd love to see a new AA-like Game.
Loved the Gameplay, but when I discovered it population was...well sub-optimal, and the performance killed me...

MMO games played or tested: EQ, DAoC, Archlord, Auto Assault, CoH, CoV, EQ2, EVE, Guild Wars, Hellgate: London, Linneage II, LOTRO, MxO, Planetside, SWG, Sword of the New World, Tabula Rasa, Vanguard, WWIIOL, WOW, Age of Conan
I played Auto Assault for around five minutes and I played SWG NGE for about 30 minutes. I’m playing the TR beta (not even a finished product) until late every night, instead of sleeping. So that’s how much it’s like the NGE or AA to me.
I remember playing the AA beta, i was in Wave 3. From what i've read on TR, these two games have only one thing in common, they are both MMORPGs.
Even I LOLLed at the OP.
Always keeping my eye on any game with a post apocalyptic/sci-fi theme.
Just a FYI, sure infinite ammo in AA but weps do overheat which means no infinite wep fire.
Basically AA uses a HEAT system instead of an overused and boring AMMO system.
Hey at least they try to do innovative stuff, screw being popular.

And, oh, please don't bother beta test this game. It's just gonna be another trainwreck like Brad did to Vanguard. FORGET IT! Take my word for it, you won't regret it.
Yes, this game is just like AA. NOTHING NEW! I am sorry if I have let you down. I was hoping it would be like Planetside, but nope, it isn't. It's just another re-packaged Auto Assault PC game. Shame! Shame!
I would understand if this is all about money and to use their own old MMO games and re-packaged it in a quick manner just to make money. Garriot, you're just a goatse everytime you drool and think about money.
There wasnt any patch for the last 5 weeks, none at all. Sure, maybe one or two patch update for the next 6-12 months but that's about it. Its garbage. And oh, whenever a MMO company bans me, I do a good job mutilating their reputation beyond their anyone's imgination. I kid you not.
Granted, I love to beta test and all, but when someone snitch on me and I get banned without due process then they're gonna be in a world of hurt. I don't care what the reviwes has to say, but I do care about changing MMO gamers' perspective and it will prevent them from buying their MMO product. I will go as far as I could, rationally and logically. Tabulsa Rasa, I will personally tear your reputation apart for good.
From what you're saying here, I'm very doubtful that you were actually in the beta.

*ponders* well I think I'm about the biggest Richard Garriott fan boi someone could be. Altho that goes back to the single player Ultima days.. among other OSI games. Rather than anything since then really.

sure i used to play AA i was in the Biomek clan too....it was fun but this game will be nuthin like it except that its an mmorpg and u can shoot.....thats all i kno i do not beta test but it wat ive heard from peeps who broke the NDA....so dont blame the game when its only in closed beta.....they still have a long way to go....maybe they will change the game....u dont kno that....maybe u dont like Sci-Fi's then dont play it.....but just dont agree wif this one guy if hes played it.....cus he may not have the same taste in games u do.....so try it b4 u complain or rant about it....AA was a very good game.....its just they sent a little to much at new players.....

This is the first realistic thread about TR (the game i seen so many people trumping up, while calling WAr and A slew of other promising games CRAP).
Oh and sam47 what did you get banned for?
Oh and i get the NDA and all and while beta testers can not say anything other then massive generics. But there should be truth and honesty laws that should apply to the mmo makers ... they promise all this Sh*t and even at release offer it but they rarely deliver... sad.
Honestly i never played AA but it sound pretty fast paced i am betting it would be fun for a while.

1. Game is in beta nothing is certain. And there is talk the game wont be ready till Chrismas anyway it has to be done right.
