I resubbed to SWG

AdamalAdamal Member Posts: 43
After being away from swg for 1.5 years i decided to resub my account.  Not to my surprise non of my old friends played anymore, so i created a new toon and started from scratch.  I have to admit i had fun this weekend grinding a new character.  When they switched to the combat system that is now in place i had already had a high level character and never did the legacy quests.  All I can say is....while we wait for the game that we want to play (PotBS is what I am waiting for) maybe resub SWG and grind a new toon, you might have fun.

Already did this a few months ago and completed everything I could do without feeling the need to kill myself. I want to choose what to do with my character and not do all these meaningless shitty quests that the legacy makes you do.

Hmph.  I am seriously considering getting this game.

I have a station pass with EQ 2 and Vanguard so I am thinking why not?  I heard nothing but good things about this game from people that *PLAY* it.  The bad press makes not want to, though.  I am afraid if I play something will reach out of my computer monitor, like some Star Wars creature, and eat me alive!

I ma not rewarding SOE for anything...just passing the time by starting a new toon from scratch which i have never done in the new system.  I dont see myself staying...but i need something to play while we keep waiting for our new games.  All this cost me was $15  instead of 50 for something i really did not want to play.

People that play this game past the game enhancements are completely lobotomized, they are brainless freaks that never will understand what Star Wars or Star Wars Galaxies was. You're free to your opinion, but believe me, Everquest II kicks way more ass for an MMO than Star Wars Galaxies does now.

I used to pay sony every month for both Star Wars Galaxies and Everquest II, after the NGE came into effect, cancelled EVERYTHING sony had and blacklisted them. And now I'm perfectly happy play World of Warcraft on an RPPVP server.

    I am:

Aserhe - Twi'lek - Scylla Galaxy (swg) [canceled]
    Exar - Dark Elf - Lucan D'lere (eq2) [canceled]
Narlash - Night Elf - Emerald Dream (wow) [Active]

    OMG!

I love the game.  I just got it two days ago, but I am LOVING IT!!  It is seriously like playing in the movies but better!  You are exploring the Star Wars world as your own avatar.  You have a house in Tatooine and can aboard your friends' vessels and various ships.

I wanted to write my first impressions so badly but I keep deleting it! I am having trouble writing a First Impression as a New Player for this game because it is so extraordinary!

You can highly customize your character.  You can travel all the great places.  You meet Hans Solo - ha ha!  Apparently, Yoda is hidden.  You can meet the Emperor if you are Imperial.  You must select either Imperial or Rebel, of course.  The game is amazing.  I am absolutely loving it and having a great time.

Edit: It is like not the game I love... it is like the world, the experience.  It is unbelievable!!

    Is he really!!

I heard he was hidden!  I want to see him!  I heard I also cannot see the Emperor until I am level 50 Imperial, I think.

Thanks!  I dunno what I am going to do, lmfao!  All of my friends are playing Vanguard again, and I want to play this game. LOL.  I am seriously in a weird situation. LOL.

Edit:  Ouch!  I am sorry.  Han and NOT Hans Solo. Thank you, and I regret deeply the error.

Honest Advice from a SWG Vet (from Pre NGE):

If you LIKE the playstyle in Vanguard or EQ2 odds are you'll enjoy SWG.  I know my fellow vets will hate me for this but the only BAD thing about the NGE was that it was implemented poorly.  It should never have outright REPLACED the existing game, it should have been introduced as an alternate ruleset server type so that both playstyles could be accomodated.  Those of us that LOVED the sandbox HATE the NGE.  But folks who like class/level based MMO's will probably enjoy SWG just fine.  (not to mention if they'd done it that way the new crowd who are playing and enjoying the NGE wouldn't have to deal with the stagnant cities and structures that we vets left behind when SWG abandoned us)

There... it's been said... by a true SWG VET (since BETA) who HATES the NGE:

SWG is just fine, as a game, if you like class/level based games.  If you prefer sandbox (UO/EVE/Pre-NGE SWG/Ryzom) style play then you will probably hate it.

So my advice:  You already have a station pass.   Give it a try.  can't hurt.
