Trying it again.

Okay, well, I'm back to trying out Vanguard again. I played it about... 2 months ago, and thought it was great. Granted, I didn't get TOO far, only level 12 or so. The grind tired me out... and since I had to get off whenever my dad kicked me off his computer (the only computer that could run it), I found I didn't have enough time to put into a game like this.

Since then, I've tried practically every other game ever, and most don't hold my interest to well. Also, during that time, I'm read all the hating on this game. I never noticed any of the bugs that everyone hates the game for, and since then, it has only gotten better. I'm not looking for an INCREDIBLY popular game... just a game to hold me over until WAR. Between this game, and I believe 2 other games (WoW, and GW) I believe I can hold out another 7 months, or less for beta :) .

I've also noticed recently, there has been less Vanguard bashing. Because of that, I'm assuming the game is picking up... however I also heard about the server merges... which is obviously bad news :P . Just wondering if I'll enjoy it like I did when I first got it. Would be very hard to believe that it could get worse....

Server merges are good news. If I had my choice, every MMO currently alive would have server merges (excluding WoW, of course).

In most MMO's, they usually have 10 or more servers, each not even close to full.

If some games would server merge..they'd become A LOT more fun. Such as DDO or CoX.

I played CoX on a smaller server (300ish villains) and then on the most popular server (1200-1600 HEROES) and I had A LOT more fun on the most popular HEROES server. Sadly, the villains were only half that, 600, on even the most popular server. But the game has at least 10 servers...WTF!?

I really liked DDO, but the servers were rather small, as is one of the biggest complaints. But it has a bajillion servers..... WTF?

Problem: Small populations on a billion different servers.

    Solution: Server merge.

Actual Action Taken by Devs: Nothing. Equivalent to a braindead corpse's problem solving skills.

OP, you say: "I didn't get TOO far, only level 12 or so. The grind tired me out..."

And you're giving it another try??? If you can't stand the grind at lvl 12, then you will hate it at 20. That goes for most MMORPGs, not just this one...

I'm giving it at least 6 months for I try the game. There seems to be potential for something great, but all of the negative things i've heard will take time to fix, adjust, enchance, etc.

I actually know a lot of people returning due to the server mergers and other improvements.

My only problem is that I want to play SWG possibly full-time, heh.  I do not know what to do!
