Is WoW still worth playing it?

UploadUpload Member Posts: 679

I have been playing World of Warcraft for quite a while, but quit playing when the Burning Crusade expansion arrived. Now, as I'm bored of most other MMOG, I might aswell try out this game again. Is the game still worthy to play? Do you have other suggestions for me? (though, I have played alot MMOG already.) Feel free to share your opinions with me.

I've reactivated my account a zillion times now, and every time within 2-3 weeks max I get pissed off by the sheer idiocy of the playerbase and the meaninglessness (is that a word?) of it all. The game engine is sturdy, the graphics are good although not my style, it's a well made, technically high quality product. But it's let down by it's playerbase and the focus on gameplay for said playerbase.

Yet, when I'm bored I resub... rinse, repeat.

HAHA WoW.  Worst MMORPG ever made imo.

As the other poster said too, the playerbase is a bunch of idiot 15 year olds who talk about linkin park on vent for 5 hours every time you raid with them.  They also might talk about how awesome cradle of filth is, etc.  Lol.

But anyway, it's very boring, wait for a half-decent MMORPG to come out imo (or something not an MMORPG, since every recent MMORPG has been trash)

I consider it worth it.  Just don't expect it to keep you playing for a long time.

I quit, like, one week before the Burning Crusade.  Started playing again about 3 months later, slowly made my way to 70 while also leveling an alt of a class I've never played.  2 months later I hit 70, alt hit 40, played around on my new flying mount. got bored, quit.  New instances aren't bad I guess, but all the quests are good with some nice rewards.  It was fun while it lasted.

Take your time, play to lvl 70, and then uninstall it. 1-70 it is a great game but after that..

    Just run away!

It's still a great game with little competition on the market, but unless you have a level 70, rerolling at this point would be worthless and a big waste.

Sven dont do it, walk away from WOW. It hasnt changed apart from a few more timesinks installed to keep the masses paying.

As you all said I shouldn't hook up with World of Warcraft again, I bought the Burning Crusade expansion.

Good, be your own judge of what you do or do not like.

I think that trying the new content is a good idea.  There is a 10day BC trial on the WoW site that gives you a chance to try the content with your characters.  This will give you time to try the content without wasting money if you get bored easily.

Like the OP, I'm a returning WOW fan and I'm having a lot of fun. The key this time around is I refuse to get caught up in the rat race. I enjoy doing the 5-man Outland instances with my old character and have started a new blood elf to explore the new low level content and PVP in 20-29 battlegrounds. In both cases I don't need to constantly PVP or join a raiding guild to have a good time - yes twinks are an occassional problem for my BELF warlock but at least I don't need to worry about level 70s pimped out in gladiator or Tier 5 gear.

I know I'll eventually reach a point where I've done everything I can as a casual player and then quit again. But in the meantime I'm enjoying the game like I never did when I was grinding my way through the old honor system or begging to join MC runs.

Exactly!  So many people ruin the game for themselves by not enjoying the journey.  They only think about being 'in-game productive', but it is a game.  The purpose of a game is to have fun, not to mindlessly grind away so that you can have fun after you reach your goals.

I dont play wow anymore and quit right after I hit 70, I didnt want to grind factions and do a million attunement quests and i simply got burned out of the game but I will recommend you play TBC. Going from 60 - 70 was fun, the quests were interesting and they help you lvl alot, it makes it easy and enjoyable in other words.

dude your fucking retarded, ive been in alot of good end game guilds and NO ONE talked about linkin park in vent, im sure some people are young but it doesnt fucking matter, when you make a post like that your acting like a fuckin 15 year old, the game is prolly the best MMO out right now untile AoC, so dude dont listen to all these peoples negative nonsense. the game is perfect the only thing that is wrong is the unbalanceness between classes, so yes it is worth it. I have 3 lvl 70s and i love that game. Never get bored.
