Previous Rating: Graphics in this game truley suck.
New Rating: I guess i never gave the game a chance. I only played it for about 5 minutes and said it was stupid based on the graphics. I played it about 2 weeks earlyer and i have been playing it ever sence. This game is awesome i love how the fighting is. Assassin and Mage are my favorite skills. Right now im sportin a level 31 Assassin and a 27 Mage and a 16 Warrior and i love each one. If you give the game a chance youll become addicted

That`s my opinion, I played it first time and tought it is totaly booring, too.
But as I played mage and get a little more experience the game become so funny and interessting, so i play it now and got a Mage lvl 40.

Well, I think I gave the game a decently fair chance, and I still don't like it. Now I am not a graphics buff, I am all about the gameplay. This game has no gameplay at all. It was incredibly lame and unplayable in my opinion. I warn anyone use to options such as EQ, DAoC, and.. err.. well I was going to say Lineage II but nevermind, to stay away.
I am glad that you enjoy this however. To each his own.

I had sort of the same feeling when first playing. One day I thought I would check out some of the games under Gamespot's beta center. I saw RYL and though huh, I'll check this one out thinking I would only play it for a few days or maybe a month at the max. Somehow it got me addicted and now with news of the NA beta being an updated version from the MY beta I just can't wait.
yeah i was lvl 28when i found out you can hold that the skill cast button to charge up the spells all that time i coulda been lvling alot faster
Didn't take me long to learn that because I did it by accident at lvl 6 or so. Was just tapping the button but accidentally held it down and I saw a meter show up. So I decided to hold it down and see how far the meter would go. After stopping I let it go and killed a monster in one hit. Then I was happy. Figuring out to cast 1-5,2-5, etc of the spells I figured by asking and listening to others experiences.

I downloaded and played it and got to lvl 8 and havent played since. And honestly the main reason I dont think I will continue playing is because maturity of the players! Since its free kids are playing and there is constant KS and cussing in the chats, CONSTANT cussing and chat that is just plain ridiculous. Community in a game is important and most these players I would not want to ever group with.
I ended up logging out just because I was tired of glancing down to racist chats all in caps over and over.
Perhaps because I am in the newbie area but definately not a good impression.
Downside to playing a free game, Id rather P2P to avoid these idiots.
I don't know why you gave this game a stupid rating at first. I like this game. It's pretty fun. Well as long as you learned your lesson that graphics dosen't mean a good game (somthin like that) then I won't start giving . . . .

Planetwidegames is the North American version of RYL. The one you guys are playing now is the Malaysian version. The North American version is in closed beta at the moment. It will probably start open beta around the 15th-20th of August. It's version is higher than the Malaysian's version. It will probably be alot of stable because it is closer to most of us and not that much immature kids.
And last but not least, no more "LIAOZ, LAH, LORZ" at the end of every sentence.
Planetwidegame's forum. Oh, and, the graphics are good, it's just that you played the 800x600 resolution. The NA version will have at least 1024x768 res.

I am aware that this is a malaysion version but its the americans that bother me.
Well, some things I dont like about RYL are the graphics. Distant character models look like unmoving stick figures until you get close then they pop fully detailed. I have a high end machine and it gets laggy. I get better fps in CoH and CoH has way better gfx. I know gfx doesnt make me play a game but they are an annoyance in RyL.
Also when mobs spawn they kinda flip out of the ground. The lag is also really bad which leads to alot of KSing which isnt a real big deal as the battles are fast. And since the lag is bad creatures will just disapear and reapear and you may see mobs that have no life walking around; maybe they killed someone and the mob lived, and you go over to kill it and it gets all its life back. Maybe a bug or just lag but happens all the time.
High lvls will walk around the noobie zone challenging you to a duel over and over. And when they do a screen pops up to confirm the duel and in doing so it takes you out of battle because it is supposedly a real time battle; meanwhile the mob is still attacking you and you have to click the no box on the duel. May sound simple but the lag delays this and meanwhile your dieing. Then you finally hit no and he asks again and again and again. To the point you have to leave the area.
Also since the game is free it is filled with young dumb griefers, loudmouths, talking and cussing in all caps nonstop. Player stores or players that sell items jack the prices up and scam newbies with false advertising. Also noone has spoke to me in game asking if I needed help or to strike up any convo's. Community thus far seems counter intuitive and destructive.
First quest was bugged. I had to go kill various monsters and when I got to the last mob (a goblin) and had to kill 3 of them and I ended up killing maybe 20 and still the quest never ended. Also in the quest menu you can hit map and it brings up the map in the middle of your screen and I couldnt minimize the map even if I hit the button again and had to relog to get rid of the map.
Ok that is some of the bad now some of the good.
The battles are fast and fun. You can level fast too. Thats about it. Oh and its free. But Id rather pay cause I know if it was P2P the idiots would leave.
i have to say.. when i downloaded the game i got really addicted to it.. i dont know weather they have fixed some of the bugs yet but when i played it there woz alot of bugs.. it would keep shutting down the game saying lost connection every like 2 hours which after a time got annoying.. and the major annoying one was the quest bug.. it says go kill a certian mob at a certian point on the map.. but to complete the quest u had to go the opposite side of the map n kill a totally different mob..
but i certianly recommend this game to mmorpg players.. its just like most mmorpg so u get used to itpretty quick.. and the graphics are at a high standard. but the only thing that got me off it was there wasnt enought mobs and lands to go to .. but who knows they mite have expanded the game now.
