Theres probably a dozen or more beta "phases" you can get in... veteran newsletters, random drawings, DAOC players, open beta, pre open beta, preorders ... on and on so no beta is not full ...YET

Well....200,000 peeps have signed up and that was last months numbers. Who knows where they are now. I am willing to bet, we will more than 1,000,000 beta "sign ups" before launch.
This game is the next "BIG" thing in gaming...what did you expect? This game aint no joke bro!
Yeah I'm guessing close to a million sign-ups as well as long as they re-open them for people in time for players to sign up 200k in what was it 1-2 weeks wasn't too bad I'd say. It's funny all these game companies and many pve fanatics thought there wasn't enough demand for pvp mmorpg's compared to pve mmorpgs, but just look at hype on this game compared to any other on this site #1 and for how long? exactly...all I can say is pvpers have been starved for much too long of new fresh quality mmorpgs.

A million! How many servers will that be then? I think I read or saw a podcast that said they are aiming for server pops similar to DAOC, and that a number as small as10k was mentioned per server. 10k per server can't be right can it? That would be 100 servers on release
That might be accurate, but who knows really it's all relative really to how big the world is and what's within it. I'm guessing even if server pops are similar to DAOC's they'll still be at least marginally higher due to any kinds of technological advancements that have taken place since to allow for greater bandwidth and/or use of it. Also 100 servers at or near release is still feasible if there's plenty of demand for it I think it will all depend on how beta goes and the demand to get into beta itself goes. I'm sure if they anticipate enough demand for it then they'll accommodate it accordingly.
Beta has started. They are in Beta Phase 2 right now. What this means is the Family/Friend Beta has ended. They have only invited their trusted testers that have been with them for years.
Here is a quote from the Grab Bag. This is why most of us haven't been invited to the Beta yet:
Q: I won a closed beta spot at [insert event/contest/etc here]. Why wasn't I invited in the first wave?
A: The first wave of beta only contained members of our internal forums, our 'trusted testers' who have been with us for years now, and friends and family of EA Mythic employees. Winners from our various events and contests will be added shortly, with more and more newsletter subscribers being added throughout the summer and fall.
i have signed up but i dont know where to download the game, can some1 help?
Just b/c you signed up doesn't mean you got into the beta.
When, and if, you are selected to be a tester they will send you an e-mail to the address you used to sign up for the beta and that e-mail will give you instructions on how to download the client and all that useful info.

I'm GUESSING that Veteran Newsletter subscribers will get in before September. After all, thats probably the smallest base of the 200,000.
that's gotta be the funniest thing I've come across all week so true
