Beta Application

Hey Everyone,

 I just had a quick question. I was going to sign up for the beta for AoC, but I don't run vista yet. I am assuming you can't get into beta without running vista, am I correct?

    You can get in with XP or Vista, your hardware and software don't matter at all because Funcom needs to test their game with as many system configurations as possible.

    It was in this months newsletter.

    I hope you are right about XP being able to run it. I'd really like to test this game out.

    It will absolutely work on Windows XP, they need to test both Vista and XP with it. If they didn't test an XP edition, they would be eliminating a massive massive chunk of customers.

    I think "massive massive" is an understatement. They would eliminate most of their userbase if they didn't let XP-users test the game. Though, I would think that running Vista with a DX10 capable computer increases your chances of becomming a beta-tester, since DX10 is one of their great features they need to test it thoroughly and I think that most applicants are either running PCs incapable of DX10 or not running Vista (or both).

    Only thing I don't like is that you cannot upgrade your beta application if you upgrade hardware. I upgraded video cards recently and had to make a second account  and fill out a new application.

    I miss DAoC

    That's the first I've heard of anyone being denied, would you mind posting the 'denial mail' you received if you still have it please?

    Also here's something interesting posted by a guildie;

    Go here:

    http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest

    Select 'Age of Conan', and click on "Can you run it?"

    It is noted that the system requirements are not final, but it's the best we have at the moment.

    Keep in mind these system requirements are NOT final, so things might change between now and release.
