No 7 day free trial? Then I'll keep my credit card in my wallet...

At this point I will not try a game unless; A-I have betatested or B- they offer a free trial of some sort.

I heard that WWII online had a free trial but it's over now.  And from what I've heard about it, I'm not paying for this thing until I see it for myself.

So my question is this, will they have another free trial?

A free trial will come along with 1.14. But for that you'll have to wait for at least E3 to end.

Blacksmith, the next update/patch, ver. 1.14, should be released in the next week or so. The developers are supposed to be offering another round of Free Trials ahortly after it is released. So there should be a Free Trial in a couple of weeks.

I'm interested in a trial as well. And although many of you have said a seven-day trial doesn't do the game justice, it should still give me a fair idea of what to expect.

Not that it's much more, but the Trials in the past have been 10 days. Not sure yet what they'll be this time around. Also, when you purchase the Game or Game Key, you get another 30 days free before you have to present a credit card or method of payment. Just thought I'd mention that.

Well it usually takes me about an hour to determine wether the game is worth my time or not. I find first impressions to be very important. Too bad some game devellopers don't seem to think so...

So the 7 days will be more than enough.

Pardon my ignorance but what is a "clipper"? And why would you get banned for reporting a cheater?

Man, this gets worse and worse with everything I hear about the game.

A clipper is usually someone who manages "clip" into a building or vehicle rendering himself invisible and often invulverable to the enemy. TThis is considered an exploit by the developers and a player doing it intentionally can be banned.

Someone who reports a cheater would never get banned. I have no idea where you heard that.

Players do not get banned for reporting clippers. The player base is encouraged to report any cheating or problems in the game so CRS (the developers) can take care of the problems and get rid of the cheats.

Well according to beatbox (I think) who said the following;

"Keep in mind that if you suscribe 6 months, and report a cheater, you might get banned without notice and then you will pay for being banned, and its not aunusual thing with crs, since they ban people stating the truth and they promote clippers."

 

Is he correct or just causing trouble? I'd like to know. I downloaded the game and have been trying it out offline (Is it just me or do you need a 500 page manual to simply drive a tank?) and other than it having a high learning curve, it looks pretty good and I might just give it a go.

That is totally false, you will not get banned for reporting a cheater haha, you will get banned for clipping however, which is totalyl acceptable. Players are encouraged to report and take screenshots of clippers...don't worry, chances are very small that you will run into one anyways.

The game is fun, give the free trial a whirl (once it comes out).

Beatbox is out and out lying if he said that and he knows it. He's obvioulsy someone who has an axe to grind or just wants to cause trouble. The statement you attribute to him is totally false. I've been playing this game since it was released and I was also a long time member of one of the High Commands and still have contacts there and I cannot think of a single instance where what he said actually happened. It goes totally against everything the Developers ahve stated and followed through on. I'd ignore him as a total troll!

Whats really odd is that I remember him being an avid player. I havent read any of his posts as of late but I always thought he supported the game.

Maybe he mistyped because if you clip, and get caught, you will be banned. If its an accident they usually understand but those cronic cheaters (and God help you if you hack the code some how) will get the perma-boot.

Good that makes me feel better. I had SWG flashbacks there. Where the motto was "so what if he's cheating, he paid his monthly fee..."

I think I may give it a try and free trial be damned. I like the offline play so far (took me a while to figgure out how to drive a tank but I got it. I don't even want to think about flying a plane though...) so I think I'll be seeing you guys in Europe sometime soon...

Yea flying takes practice. Hell I have been playing 2 1/2 yrs and I still suck in the air.  I am a ground pounder at heart so I have never giving the air game much time.

Yeah, if you need help, just ask. I'd be more then happy to help out. Also, channel 99 on both the Allied and Axis side is condsidered a "Help" channel. You can often receive help there.

I'm never gonna open a third account to a game that caused me so much trouble for the ammount of time i tried to invest into it for training people, recruiting people, yet i have been completely disrespected by crs, the fanboys, the squads i've work with, and the rest of the community that's always looking for something to bash on.

Damn man, how did you manage to play the game for 2+ yrs when it has so many problems?

It amazes me that when someone gets banned from the game that person finds a whole list of things wrong. But the only reason they are not playing is because they got banned.

As far as squads backstabbing, well I take offense to that. My squad has never backstabbed anyone. What would be the point of doing that? I really have not heard of any squad doing this, now that I think about it.

CRS never ban people by just their views on forum. You can even insult CRS all you wish but your GAME account dont get banned (your posting rights to forum on other can get banned, first for duration and then completelly if continued).

So what did you really do? Cheat? That is about only thing what gets your account deleted.

Beatbox,  I personally know person that HAVE instulted CRS directly and all that he got was 1 month ban ONLY FROM FORUMS. His game account was working just fine. And that person was not even upset about it, because he did know that (forum) ban was coming.

Only way to lose your game account without warning is to cheat in game (or somehow directly harm servers, network, etc that harm company business). CRS is company that try to make profit. They just dont delete accounts without no reason (you know, they really want to keep as much people paying as possible).

So either you did cheat or you lie about your account being deleted.

Whos the new one that replaced hatch as the laison? Its either Megadeath or Megablam (and Im thinking the latter). I always get those two mixed up.

Try them and see where you get. If its in error Im sure theyll want to fix it. Afterall, If people were banned for insulting the Rats the forums would be almost empty, which they are most deffinatly not (for better or worse).

You aren't going to like the game if you only like first impressions.

The strong points of WW2OL are the attempt at realism, not eye candy.  And the game takes team work, you have to get a squad and start working with them to achieve objectives.
