  • Bethesda will be making Fallout 3 however it will be more like the Oblivion engine than the old isometric Fallout 1  & 2.

I haven't heard of an actual Fallout MMO, but I suppose its possible.  Its really matter of license more than anything else.

Interplay sold the Fallout License to Bethseda, and bethseda then gave them the right to make a Fallout MMO, but own if they start production by next year i believe.

To be honest, I sincerely hope Bethseda does not undertake to make fallout or any other game a mmo.  The company has created excelent games that were designed specifially for the single person role player and have absolutely no experience with the mmo, it would be a creature that Bethseda has never even touched.  I would hate to see such an excellent game producer's image blemished because they ventured into an area better left to those with experience.

But Fallout 3 on the Oblivion engine will rock as long as they don't incorporate the monster leveling coding that Oblivion has, other then that Oblivion is the perfect game!

Interplay will be the one developing the MMO,

and If they can get the cash to hire some of there old staff back from where ever they ended up, even better

last i read they contracted the company that did horizons to make the fallout mmo, although i doubt they had any capital to make anything happen. last i read, interplay was literally in the garage of herve's house and comprised of 2 employees. sad considering the irvine hq used to be a really nice place.

    Games i'm playing right now...

It is confirmed that there will be NO relative monster leveling in Fallout 3.  ie. a level 3 guy goes to a level 20 area, he gets smooshed.

I do not beleive Bethesda has any real interest in ever making MMOs or even multiplayer stuff.

Hmm that is rather funky.  It is Interplay has held onto the license with a death grip for so long.  I do not have a great opinion of their ability to get some other company that will make a good mMO version of Fallout.

Bethesda I have a lot of respect for and think they will do a good job.  But Interplay has never done anything except hold onto the licsence and screw with the people who made the franchise.

I would absolutely LOVE to see a Fallout MMO, but I don't think it'll ever come to be as good as Fallout 2. In my opinion, the series has gone downhill since Fallout 2... even though Tactics was alright, the PS2 one was just horrid.

I think the Caravan running, interesting races (how hilarious would it be to group with a ghoul who heals you by growing fruit out of his head? HAHA) and post-fallout world would make for an interesting community too.

Waiting for something fresh to arrive on the MMO scene...
