About Us:
A legendary DAoC PvP guild, who dominated the Merlin server and reigned for nearly 3 years as the #1 ranked guild on the server, and later became a force to be reckoned with as Royal Black Watch on Albion-Gareth. A tight-Knit group of players who excel at teamwork, defense and cracking jokes.
We aren't going to tell you how to play. You are free to play any race/class/prestige you want to and have full control over what you want to do. We will of course, encourage you to come out with us on a raid sometimes for some fun. All we expect out of you is the have respect for your fellow guildmates and players. We promote a friendly atmosphere and hope you can do the same with other members.
Myth is a goal oriented guild. We go into a pvp engagement with goals and the strategy to acheive those goals. Those goals may range from harassing the enemy leader and keeping him killed, to taking a keep while the defenders are all watching American Idol. In the past we engaged in things such as Operation: Bankrupt Albion. In which we ran around in Old Frontiers busting down the doors to all of Albion's keeps, then leaving. Of course, we left them the massive repair costs for the wood to get those doors closed. After about 2 weeks, we succeeded in breaking their wallets and willpower, and walked away with their relics when nobody came out to defend much less repair the relic keeps. Very few guilds have been as successful as Myth in capturing relics.
Our PvP style is somewhat raid and large engagement oriented, and we are masters of siege warfare. We are team players, and we expect you to also be when called upon. PvP sieges of course, aren't the only things we do, as we also encourage solo, and group play as well and do them frequently. Any kind of role you want to play, we can fit you in.
We believe in helping our members to succeed by allowing an environment for their playstyles to thrive. Proving a crafter with guild funds to help him improve his skill, while the crafter in turn will help the guild members on the front lines by making him that +5 sword of uberness at cost. The front line PvP soldier could then help the PVE buff with that raid where they obtain the material needed for that +5 sword of uberness for somebody else. Our GMs and officers are some of out most helpful and outgoing members. They will always go lengths to help you any way they can by way of gear, money or whatever to members who need it.
Being a friendly guild, we treat our allies as an extension to our guild, although not on so great of a scale that actual guild members would get. Also being an honest guild, we do not permit any form of cheating whatsoever. This includes 3rd party enhancement programs, as well as things like spying. We take pride in fighting and competing fairly, and hope you do as well.
We don't ask that you be mature, but if you aren't... you better have a damn good sense of humor. We are comprised however of mostly older and more mature players. I'm the youngest of the active members at 21.

for such a pvp focused guild I have to ask why not join the FFA server? Other than that you look to be great
because being DAoC vets they have seen FFA servers die out within a year.And standard DAoC server is most like a normal pvp server in AoC.It's lame investing a year in a toon,then the server is dead and you have to re-roll.
While we may be a pvp guild, FFA pvp players are an entirely different breed from us, and we do not always get along very well with some of them. We like the thrill of a siege and goal oriented combat, while most FFA pvprs like the thrill of ganking an afk lowbie and getting away with it.
Normal servers is the servers where you will see endless grief with no penalty to it.

generally, there are very few griefers who make it over to the normal servers, because it hinders their playstyle. Funcom is also implementing a NPC bounty hunter system into age of conan. Players who do things which constitute as a crime, will have a bounty automaticly placed upon them. As they do more things, like ganking lowbies, the bounty will increase and eventually NPC bounty hunters will be dispatched and begin going after them. They won't be able to enter major cities as it increases, and it'l become increasingly difficult to avoid the hunters as their strength and numbers increase. When caught, you will have the option to either pay the bounty hunters the amount of you bounty, say 5000 gold to make them go away. If you don't pay, you will then be sent to prison, where you will spend time working off your bounty amount doing menial tasks.
I don't know if this will make it onto FFA pvp servers, but it will be on normal servers. On normal servers anyway, other than bars/arenas the only pvp enabled area will be the border kingdoms, which is consentual pvp. They won't really be able to grief there all that much.
I'd love to join, buying game right on release date, and have been waiting ages just for this game, was a top pvp in WoW if that counts for anything, kinda want a differant type of game atm

AoC is far more similar to DAoC than WAR is.If they truly built a DAoC2 It might be different.But war took out all the skilled parts of daoc.And its not even Mythic anymore it's EA.After almost 2 days of third party sites and updates I almost got EA's battlefield 2 working.Definitely a monolithic disorganized corporation.
Btw, I usually thought consensual pvp meant a flag system like swg.AoC standard server is just like DAoC with 3 pve realms and the pvp frontier in the middle.being you need to be lvl 50 or 60 to enter the border kingdom and you know its a pvp zone ,why would they penalize someone for killing you?

That is pretty much the case outside of how combat is going to be handeled. It seems WAR has taken the easy way out and has gone backwards like most over mmorpgs have in the past couple of years. I am really hoping that AoC pulls this off because it should be a lot of fun like DAOC but with far more people.

It won't be applied in the border kingdoms. However, the entire NPC bounty hunter concept was released back when funcom was not even planning a ffa-pvp server. The ffa-pvp server was only decided to be put in after lobbying on the official forums for it. So please don't think that it was created with only the FFA-pvp server in mind, as that is not true.
So yes, I think it was only created with the PvP server in mind. As that is the only logical thing to do since you will not see the BH in the border kingdoms, thus not on the Normal server.

on a normal(my doctor says thats a bad word) server,since theres I believe a lvl 60 min and its a pvp zone.I can't see a BH system in the border kingdom,guilds would just spam 60's into a battle and if you defend against them you go to jail.that sounds retarded.
Like a whole SWAT team shows up in riot gear and takes your guild into custody.

Let me see now. The Guild "Myth" have never been a legendary or a top guild there actully have dominated the Merlin server. The true masters of the Merlin server was Devil's Knights or Midgaard. Anyway the "Merlin" server was a Normal server, while all the real action was on the "Mordred" PvP server.In fact the Myth guildmaster did not resign from DAoC but was banned for using radaring (aka radar hack) and bot account. Come to think over it, was it you Drutt, there explodes over some multi-guild Team Speak channel?, cussing everyone out left and right, while someone had the foresight to make a recording and convert it into an MP3 file (Im gonna try to see if that mp3 is still out), but I think it is about 45 minut long. But after that people started to leave the guild.

@ Battlekruse is common to bump up guild threads on the official forums, we don't have a guild thread here on this site yet.
If you compare the two companies previous MMOs AO vs DAOC... WAR will be better than AoC hands down.
This is coming from a 3 year AO vet.. the game just blows, and every dev/community leader who started AO is on the AoC team. I've read lots about DAOC, and its simply a better game, with better company. Funcom has lots of company policies that prevent it from communicating properly.
AoC may be PVP centric as well, but trust me, it will flop. The only plus it has in my view is the Direct X 10, big deal.
Funcom's main communication is via the official forums, something which Mythic can't be asked to do, and works around this by sending people all over to search for information. I see lots of dev quotes and information daily, bymitra.com has over 5000 of them from the developers, I also go on Funcom's AoC IRC channel where you get a bunch of dev's and GM's talking all the time about all sorts of things. Funcom takes the time to answer lots of questions periodically put in from my guild too. When you say "trust me it will flop" with regards to AoC, I just can't take your word sorry, especially considering your background.... But hey! I hope both AoC and War will be successful. Im like you and have more of an allegiance to the lore of the particular game your most interested in, but I don't just say either one will flop....
