I couldn't be more bored

I have a MMO addiction that I can no longer satisfy. When I was 13 or so I started playing AC and that was the beginning of it for me. I'm now 21 and MMOless because I've tried pretty much EVERY game there is to try(WoW,EQ,DAoC, CoH/V, Runescape, AO, GW, LotRO, Maple Story, Ragnarok, Knight Online, Rakion, Second Life, Shadowbane, Silk Road, Tale in the Desert, and probably about 20 other f2p). My longest lasting subscriptions were AC(2 yrs) and WoW(on and off since release), Is there ANY games you guys might recommend, either f2p or p2p, that are anywhere near as good as AC was in its prime?

    Saga of Ryzom.

But I don't think that will satify your thirst.  I have suffered the same as you, as nothing has ever compared to UO so many years ago.  I have tried every game you mentioned as well, I know your pain.  What I have come to understand from it is that its much like your first love, or first kiss.  Nothing ever seems to compared to your first.

UO was my first into this addicting MMO genre, and nothing after has even compared.

I can't really think of what o suggest, but I'm going through the same slump. I'm only 15 yrs, 11 months, and some odd days, I AM BORED TO TEARS! I can't stay with a game very long now, I play them off and on, each time hoping the spark will return. I can't do p2p, but none of the f2p games can keep me entertained. If you get any good recommendations, please message me with them, if they are free, maybe we can team.

P.S. sorry for the random post, please don't hate me, I'm just waiting for replies to my own topic and your's caught my eye.

Had the same burnout, even though i still played Tibia (2d game created back in '96) now and then. Even though i played so many mmo's with some being really nice, but still not compete what i am looking for. So i am waiting for Aion. Been gaming for almost 7 years now. Nothing more to say to it.

I started playing Clan Lord about 5 years ago....it's still sort of fun every now and then...really fun and easy and easy to get into with a great community...check it out...don't flame it cuz of the graphics...cuz UO's graphics used to suck up until KR and it was still a great game

I feel your pain.  Eve is the only game thats kept me subbed as long as AC did.  Maybe worth a shot.

I have been going through the same thing as all of you. AC was also my first MMO and I can't find anything nearly as good as I remember AC being. Anyways, it's not really an MMO but I have been happy playing Diablo 2 lately. It's got free online play and it's still got many people playing it. D2 always has at least 20,000 people playing at all times and around 50,000 during prime time. Might be worth a shot to check it out since it has kept me occupied for a while now and still is until new MMOs come out.

Hehe, it looks like we all are feeling your pain man. I'm currently playing the Sword of the New World beta until Age of Conan comes out. I strongly believe that AoC will be the game to satisfy this thirst and yet even renew a new love and passion for MMORPGs alike. It's a new generation coming up, but the downfall is we must wait til atleast the end of October to experience it =)

Love the sinner, hate the sin.

My first was from about...4-5 yrs ago. It was MS, and my constant playing was my downfall. I went through burnout and couldn't play anymore. If I'm right, I can probably enjoy it again. But I have never found a game that satisfies me as much as MS did. I am waiting for Huxley and Pirates Online. I wouldn't recommend that Sword of the New World. Personally I don't feel like using 3+Gig just to play a game I may not like. I am also saving up for Elder Scrolls IV; Oblivion and the Expansion packs.

Hm, AC1 was skill based not much out thats anything like that. Closest thing might be Pirates fo the burning sea. earning a new level only unlocks a new skill and maybe better ships. will also have a light form of looting. not sure what features you're looking for? Pirates is the only thing thats pretty cutting edge besides some of the other obvious choices like EVE and saga. you listed neither in your post which I find interesting....

Join the club.  You're experiencing what just about every MMORPGer experiences after they finally get bored with their first MMO.  They find that the next one is never as good as the first time.  The first time you enter an online world, its fascinating.  Once that fascination wears off, its just a game.  My first was EQ and I was amazed.  I've never played another game as good as that one and I wonder if I ever will.  But I am on a quest to find out if its possible to feel that first time experience in a game that is not the first time.  I am hopeful that it is.

Iv been in MMO burnout for almost a year now, I have been playing a few MMOs off and on still but nothing can keep my attention.  I have been playing Singleplay and Non MMO- Multiplayer games and am having more fun than any MMO out righw now can offer me.

Well this was the topic i was just about to post. Played em all; it's pretty much the same with any of these MMOs, has a glossy and exciting start and then when you get to mid-game you notice that the game begins to repeat; same monsters, gear, the areas seem to differ very little, but your to hooked to break away from the game. I just say wait for that one something special, dont waste you money on anything, just wait for the next-gen MMOs, and then see if any of them satisfy. Thats what I plan on doing.

If you want to play a fun game, I suggest Everquest 2.

Here is a link to NEW Player First Impressions:

I am in the game right now while writing this, taking a brief break, in a graveyard area with a level 70 friend of mine who is "mentoring" me so we can group together.  Awesome content, a lot fun!

Edit: I actually have my combat experience turned off, just enjoying the content, completing quests. Totally relaxed.  The only MMO I have played without the intense pressure to grind and level-up.  It is so nice that high level friends can "mentor" or group with you.
