I guess if shoddy WoW clones (LotRO etc) keep selling and garnishing amazing reviews, and as long as bigger companies keep buying, killing, and otherwise homogenizing all up and coming games with anything resembling an original idea let alone a setting other high fanatasy, we as gamers can look forward to never again having anything revolutionary in the MMO gaming world.

I remember a time when it was absolutely rare to know of any other MMO'er, or gamer for that matter.  My gaming brother would come over and then I could finally (as my wife coined) talk "geek" for a little bit.  Now, just the other day at work I walked in on a conversation, in the breakroom between too norms, about WoW.

Gamers, we have lost out underground geek to the very f!ck-nut @ssjobs that we hated in yesteryears.  We have lost out to the pop-culture prom.

-please, go suck your thumb,  watch Hackers again with your Che Guevera t-shirt and feel good about yourself. Stop trying to de-rail the thread into your own personal rant.  Don't we have enough pointless anger on this website already?

Since you listed Seed, an unfinihsed MMO that was cancelled before it could be released, I'd like to throw in my vote for Square-Enix's True Fantasy Live Online. My god, that would have been an incredible game...

I've never seen hackers,  and I am not angry.  I don't own a "Che Guevera" T-shirt.  But I do appreciate the pigeon hole attempt.  Try harder next time Mr. Psycho-Analysis.  I do have thumbs though, hit the nail on the head on that one.

I say leave the dead games alone. There was a reason why they became that way in the first place. I think it would be really difficult for any game to be ressurected that wasn't very appealing to people in the first place or just had too many issues.

Seed was released and had been out for 4-5 months before Runestone had to pull the plug due to lack of fundings and/or publisher interest. I had planned on giving it a go eventually because I really liked the concept of the game and didn't get to do much of anything during beta, but sadly it was canned before I could go back and do so.
