I have played Everquest, DAoC, Ultima, Asheron's Call, and
many other RPG's that were not on-line. I have found for me
anyway, that all of them do , and will have, the redundent
task of leveling. Lets face it , you kill something, you gain XP
and you wait for the "ding" to run somewhere and have a NPC
give you some new set of spells or hack/slash method. It's
the graphics, sounds, challenge of the quests, and ego of the
higher character level you now flaunt that keeps us on going.
The friends you make are great too. But can someone come
up with the right mix to keep thousands of people playing for
years? EQ team has been quoted saying "We are looking in
EQ2 to get back some of those who left EQ1." Well you may
get us back ,just to see the new engine work, and walk in a
new graphic base, but can you keep us past the newness?
