Well, you read it there. After playing through the KoTOR games once again, I've been finding a sheer lack of Star Wars games that interest me. Now, I'm also one of those people who enjoy seeing the non-Jedi side of the Star Wars universe. I never played SWG, so there is none of the "old days" gameplay stigma here (though I wouldn't be opposed to giving it a spin).
But I digress; I'd like to find out the scoop on which server seems to have the most RP. Of course, if that answer isn't applicable, how much is RP'ing looked down upon in SWG? Even on the RP servers in many other games I've seen a large portion of people who find it "creepy" or "stupid," and I've even read a few editorials on MMORPG.com itself shunning it. I'd love to RP in the Star Wars universe.
Thanks.

Bria was one of the larger servers if I recall correctly, not sure about the RP issue but I don't ever remember that being a problem on any server for SWG. The community back when I played was great and to be honest there wasn't any l33t people around that I remember, now that I think of it that may have been one of the best parts about SWG.
Starsider is the RP server.
Boycott EA Games. RIP Sim City.
As for CharslesT, about how much RP do you see on that server? Any particular reason why it's the best?
I see roleplay everywhere. I am new to the game, but I believe a majority are flagged roleplaying and do roleplay. If you are looking for a roleplay server, Starsider is it. Great community there. I have been both impressed with the game and the community.

I used to play in Kettemoor and even though the server wasnt labeled as a rp server the rp community was huge, I really couldnt tell you what server is rp now but im sure there are rpers on all servers. Last time I logged on Kettemoor it was dead so I wouldnt recommend going there but also be aware, you say you like the non-jedi side of star wars and there are tons and tons of jedi in swg now.

Bria is probably the last server that I would pick if you are seriously into RP.
I played on Bria from release up until the NGE and back then the community on Bria was very good, it was the largest server population-wise (and still is), so we had our share of bad apples, but all-in-all the community was excellent.
I returned to the game last month after Chapter 6 was released. However, I no longer play on Bria - Why? Well the community on Bria is now generally at a WoW-style level. The server seems to be full of 1337dood morons, sure you can still find the odd nice, friendly person, but in general the server is nothing more than a virtual school playground.
I have started a new toon on Chimaera and the community is MUCH better there, people actually go out of their way to help you rather than sling insults or ignore you. I am now in the process of transfering one of my Elder toons from Bria to Chimaera for that very reason. RP is alive and well on Chimaera also if that is what you are looking for, with only perhaps Starsider having more RPers per head of population on the server.
Another good option is to create a toon on TC-Prime. I have 4 new characters there, as that is the limit on that server instead of 2 (or 3 with elder jedi) on a normal server. TC-Prime isnt like the old Test Center as it doesnt have any frogs or wipes and essentially it is exactly the same as a normal 'live' server except that you get the updates there first, get an extra 2 character slots and also there is a double XP weekend every month. Another bonus of this server is that the economy is not out of control like it is on the live servers. Items that sell for 40 million credits are worth about 3 million on TCP so you can kit yourself out in all your high-end gear for a fraction of the price that it costs on live. TCP also has a good few RP guilds, if you are into the Jedi thing at all, I recommend giving <DARK> or <FORCE> a try.
Anyway, just some information and advice for you, take it or leave it, and welcome to SWG!
