Oh well, doesn't matter to me. Most of the comments recently show that only AoC fanboys have been down-hyping the game. Doesn't bother me that they're feeling threatened by the game I'm following.
It's okay WAR will still rock, But just if it fails i am glad i got AoC for free :P

I agree with that. Just because the Hype drops .1 of a point doesn't mean that the sky is falling in and suddenly the game will suck.
I wonder where all those negative reviews came from. I hope someone didn't make a bunch of accounts just to do that.
I wouldn't really put it past anyone. People seem to like to do that.
I don't really bother how much hype WAR gets...AoC was first for a while already, who cares?
But what makes me kinda sad is the huge heap of pure ignorance in the Hype-review Section...Every second guy seems to write: "WAR=WoW Clone" and so on and so forth...
I mean, how dumb can you be, to review a Game you don't even have ANY info about? Just from Two Envoiremental Screenshots?

I have to agree. The hype does tend to fluctuate as groups of people vote one MMO one way and the other a different way. Though, I really wouldn't trust MMORPG.com for actually dictating the true hype. Most of the people here aren't the larger part pf people that will actually be buying the games on release.
tbh I dont think those hypemeters will affect anyone 'cept maybe a few dozen lost souls /shrug
I think many have forgotten about that 40k mmo they droped.

Hype doesnt mean much, and WAR and AoC arent even very comparable, the games are different from one another and seem to have separate groups of fans.

I dont see why there has to be conflicts between WAR and AoC, its not like anyones life depends on it. Its pretty simple if you hate WAR go play something else and if you hate AoC go play something different I dont see why there has to be a conflict between two different games just because they are MMOs.

As far as actual 'hype' goes, I think AoC deserves to have the highest hype, because quite truthfully it's promising a lot of things.
It all comes down to the fact that if AoC doesn't deliver, its hype wasn't worth it. But I think it deserves the bigges hype none the less.
Yes, I've noticed the AoC fanboys figured out how to make a lot of throwaway accounts for voting lately.
I always check the users that vote 1 for WAR and leave a comment about it being a WoW clone. They always have either 0 posts or close to it. Pure trash. Its so funny that I used to have equal interest between WAR and AoC. Over time that has slowly slipped and now WAR is at the top and AoC is hardly holding interest.
Seems to me like AoC is shaping up to have the playerbase that WoW was so well known for. Well they can have the kiddies as far as im concerned.

What ever, people can cry out WoW clone all day or what ever is the hot slogan for the week. I'm still going to play WAR no matter what it is.... so yeah.... Have fun in what ever MMO every one else plays wether it's AoC, WAR, WoW, or even old school UO!
+1, Agreed. What's the point of "down-hyping" a game? Will people play AoC more than WAR if its 0.1 point higher? nah, they wont. These are 2 different games and there's no point of discussing which one >will< be better, tastes differ, thats all. So... mr's "down-hyper's", get your heads out of your butts and start using it in a more common way (->use brain ffs<-)

nothing wrong with war being alot like wow but it is alot like it. i said a GOOD version of wow. it has updated cartoony graphics, GOOD pvp, and a purpose to do quests other than to lvl up. its like wow because its combat is pretty much the same, the quests even though have a purpose are still talk to a guy do somthin then talk to another guy, the story is the same, humans and elves not liking the orcs and whoevers allied with them, only this story is more brutal.
And after a long hard day of RvR the fight is over, both sides have sufferd heavy losses both dropping .1 of a mark but here to reclaim its throne once again..... WAR makes it back to N1!

Ofcourse but they have a way to go before they become a substantial threat, the games lack of PvP may be playing a part in this
Who cares who is on top of the hype-meter haha, as long as both games are better than WoW I could care less.
I think it's important to remember that the hype levels on this site in no way reflects the actual community-wide hype for games. That said, it will always be somewhat of a teeter-totter (sp?) between the colossal games.
Its pretty funny though cuz if u monitor the hype comments for a bit, you will notice that it is the same person going to the WAR hype and bad-mouthing it and then you see them at the AoC hype and they treat it like God. So yes this is the work of the pathetic AoC fanoy's who have absolutely no life and conitnue to make new accounts just to do this...
