(A new gaming sight for Jesus lovin’ gamers)
Hail players!
My name is Allpone. I’m writing to tell about a new, family friendly, Christian based, online gaming community called Eternal Wisdom.
The online gaming world of MMO, MMOG & MMORPG is just exactly that – ANOTHER WORLD, a virtual world. When you (or your children if you are a parent) log on to your favorite online game, you are interacting with hundreds, maybe even thousands of other players all over the world.
In the real world our heavenly Father commands His children to fellowship with each other and then to go out into the entire world telling the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
Eternal wisdom is being set up to help us do exactly that. First, we are all going to have a ton of fun with other sold-out, Jesus lovin’ gamers. Second, we are going to make some new friends and maybe even get to share what Jesus Christ has done for us in our lives. You see, we are to be living examples, striving to be like Christ like EVERYWHERE – even when we are gaming.
This NEW gaming community is also being set up for “all ages”. Why? So that children can have a place to GAME that will be a supportive community with solid Christian morals.
My experience in these online worlds has been this: I have met many friends, but way more that don’t know Christ than those who do. I have met and played against gamers from 6 years old to 70. My question to you is this: who are you spending your gaming time with? What kind of influence are your gaming friends having on you? These are even bigger questions for kids and their parents. After all, you wouldn’t knowingly let your child or even your teenager go hang out with several 30 to 40 year olds who you didn’t know anything about, would you?
I believe it is important for everybody, but especially young kids, to have Christian examples in every area of their life, gaming world included. Eternal Wisdom invites players of all ages and parents of young players to interact with the community. We especially want parents to know who their child is spending their gaming time with.
Eternal Wisdom is in the beginning stages, still looking for hard core gamers who are leaders, to help develop the community, to supply spiritual leadership and game leadership. Ideas and thoughts are welcome. Eternal Wisdom will accept some leaders who are not gamers, but we prefer that you are actively gaming in some online game.
The leader’s main roles will be: to help keep the clans that are set with our name in the games to the moral standard, to guide the members and others toward Christ and to keep the games fun. Other responsibilities will be prepping tactics in pvp games with economy and warfare, clan management.
The few non-gamer leaders will be used to help mange the forums, to help with guidance to members on a spiritual level and joining in on prayer groups and discussion forums.
Membership to Eternal Wisdom will work as a military rank structure so to speak. Ages of main leadership is preferred to be 18 or older but there are leadership spots for younger teens.

Our main web site will be in the works during the next few months. To begin with our primary game will be Shadowbane. I know it’s an older game, but it has no monthly payments and you can buy the game in most Game Stops or order it off line for only about $10.00. Yes, I also know that it’s a bit of an older game in graphics and play too, but it is also a good place for beginners to learn how most games work and it’s a pretty good place to practice gaming skills and pvp and a good place to fellowship with one another and other gamers. I pray that everyone will have lots of fun.

First of all, is this serious or some kind of joke? I can't even tell anymore.
Second, don't most MMO's prohibit guilds based on real world religions from being formed? I mean, this sounds innocent and all but religions have a loooong reputation of evangelism and jihads...as if most MMOs weren't bad enough without this.
I agree with the above poster, it's getting tough to seperate the serious stuff from the wind ups! I mean a christian based online gaming organisiation? I hate to break this to you but if most of the members of this sight were gaming and someone came on ventrilo preaching the word of Jesus, they'd get muted or kicked or just told to STFU. Seriously most gamers want to have fun, and most peoples idea of fun doesn't include singing "Michael row the boat ashore" over ventrilo whilst getting owned in PvP!
I have a good idea though, you should get your organisation together and when you have enough people find a similar Muslim organisation. Then play Medieval 2 Total War online against eachother. Man if you got that kind of deal going I'd be willing to join up AND pay a monthly fee!

You said you were playing shadowbane right? You can get that for free, I downloaded it just fine off Fileplanet. You need to make a fileplanet account for that, and and then make an ubisoft account to get the expansions. You just create the account and select 'add subscription' and then you automatically get the expansion options. Oh, and can you modify the font and color? This thread gives me a headache.

I believe that many parents would have a problem with adults in a video game trying to influence thier religious beliefs. People pay to play a game, not have strangers try to convert them from thier current faith.
I have to read the bible again, I can't remember were god told anyone to DO anything in the new testemants. Well, aside from an angel telling Marie that she's going to have gods baby, but then she didn't really have to do much of anything. I mean, it's gods baby.

Um, you compare kids playing an online game to hanging out with 30-40 year olds, and at the same time you're proposing that parents let their children do exatly that? I don't get it, why do I have to be scared into letting my kid hang out in a game with a 25 year old that actively asks parents to let him hang out with thier children? Religion aside, you creep me out more then those 30-40 year olds I don't know, they aren't asking to play games with my kid.

That sounds reasonable, but I'm afraid that something still stands in your way. would you let non-Christians into this guild? If not then RL discrimination is also not allowed in most MMO's.
