1. Agreed, it was boring to be honest. Oh cool, we got to see a chick, a map, and some guy's arm, and other body parts, get cut off. Other than that, it was z Z z Z z Z.
From a gameplay point of view they'd probably be better served with the camera starting high above a keep under siege, capturing alot of different sorts of fights and slowly descending down to ground height along with a guy chopping off limbs and whatnot. Then it could've faded out and shifted to Conan brooding on his throne while some servant yelled at him along the lines of: "They're coming, my lord!" "Who?" "Everyone."
From what I gather, alot of Conan's oooh-factor will come from team combat and formations and cavalry and things like that.
On the other hand, better music could've helped this trailer. It just didn't feel special as it is.
The trailer was good, I wouldnt call it "awsome" but there is alot going to be invested in this game. I have high hopes for it.
For those who say its "boring" go and get your eyes checked. I know it wasnt spectacular, and I really dont understand why game trailers, especially MMORPG's, dont follow the way actual movie's do their trailer. If they did something a bit more intense, such as do a couple quick shots to different fighters before a climax at the end, it would have been much better.
I'm looking forward to the game but not because of this video. If it was trying to imply that as one Conan's crew you'll be fighting the world, okay but it really didn't show much more than that. As a game 'teaser' to get folks to drool over the game it has to be running video from the game being played. Anyone can make up a computer video so while this was entertaining it doesn't show the game as playable or not or even desirable to play.
Still and all, I'm happily looking forward to playing when it does release.
They are great trailers to watch, to get you into the mood. I would love to play a game that matches how these trailers look. Unfortunatly, I think I'll have to wait another 5-10 years.
BTW, if you got other game trailers, show em off here
When games reach this level of cinematic excitement, I'll be in bliss
your arguement is so persuasive, so filled with knowledge and insight. You back up your argument very articulately, with suggestions of improvements and raising examples to glorify your position....oh wait, you didn't
Oh man, Guild Wars Factions has one of the best MMORPG cinematics I've seen
I wasn't aware of it before I'd completed the campaign though, so that probably made me biased, because seeing the villain like that gave me goosebumps all over.
Also, I thought Auto Assault and D&D Online's cinematics really put you in the mood. I used to watch AA's cgi every other time I played it to get psyched. On the other hand, at the time I played World of Warcraft and was really into it, I still disliked its cinematic. It was too fragmented and without a redline. Pleasing on the eye of course, but when haven't they been.
Oh, and the Hellgate London cinematic with the two armoured swordfighters slaughtering massive amounts of zombies was brilliant. The other cinematic for it, which is probably the intro of the game, with people driving along and being ambushes was so-so. Good atmosphere, but it drags out.

2. To be determined.
Observer it is clear that you keep bashing AoC and you really talk shit without being able to back it up, I dont know wether you are a WAR fan or simply an ignorant but I think we all know not to listen to what you have to say, and your opinion isnt worth a cent.

Cinematics typically fall into one of two categories: in-game, or pre-rendered. In-game ones give a sense of the game-play, while pre-rendered are generally prettier and give more ambience.
I like this one as a pre-rendered story/ambience cut. It sets the theme of the game nicely. There are already several game-play movies available for AoC, and I'm sure there will be more coming as they close in on release.

I ahve to say AOC's consumer interaction leavs a lot to be desired.
The cinematic was okay, but not brilliant.

Personal opinion... Cinematic looks a lot like God of War.. Too much for me. I loved God of War on PS2.. Not God of War Online for the PC.
Butchers are going to love this game.
Already hoped that Arnold would have done the voicing for Conan, but that would have been too perfect already
Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

I like it. It's not Blizzard but it's good.
This is why it's a Cinematic trailer
I've not seen anyone complain about World of Warcraft Trailers, Everquest 2 Trailers, Guild Wars Trailer, City of Villians Triailer, or any other fantastic trailer not representing the game functionality/graphics

Edit: I have to add Warhammer Online Trailer and although not an MMO, my favorite trailer: Warhammer 40k Dawn of War
